Lessons: On Hold.
After deliberating with
dodger_winslow, I've come to a decision regarding 'Lessons'.
I'm taking a short sabbatical!
This story's doing my head in. I want to write the rest of the story before posting any more individual chapters. And maybe go back and re-do a few of the earlier ones. I'm unsatisfied with these last few chapters and it's stressing me out, lol. I know fanfic is meant to be a fun pursuit and a recluse from real life, but I think in the absence of schoolwork my mind pulled a crazy and used fanfic to fill that stress-void. It's not just me! I've talked to a few people who are finding it hard to switch from essay-and-graded-writing-mode to writing-for-fun-and-fandom-love mode.
I know there are a number of areas in this story that people aren't a hundred per cent satisfied with, so I'm going to take some time to review comments and reviews and work out where the general grievances lie and then try to rediscover the path that this fic had originally been heading down. I lost it somewhere along the way. I blame my university! Lol. It sucked my soul away last semester and put this huge grey cloud over any subsequent writing attempts! (I like being melodramatic, shh.)
So, if any of you readers have any concrit that you were wary to mention before, now is your chance! And yes, I know I should be careful about molding stories to fit audience reactions, but I'm not doing that, I just really appreciate honest concrit when it's called for.
After all, writing fanfic is about writing for an audience. Like
chaneen said to me: it's like procrastination and work at the same time. And Lessons needs a bit of work.
