It's 5AM in the bloody morning but I promised I'd post this DA fic today, so here it is! (though, technically it's tomorrow) It's longer than I'd planned, slightly more plot-y than I planned, but it's my first ever delve in the Dark Angel fandom so I wanted to experiment with voice and character a bit. I don't think the voices are quite up to par

You did so good!!! When you said you needed to get their voices I thought you actually had a problem doing that, but now I realize you're just INSECURE bacause baby, you've got those voices down. It read like them. You had the body language going and you had the nuances of how they interact with each different character down. I could see and hear it as I read. I'm just so shocked that you don't realize that. You even got the whole way Max imitates Alec when she's pissed and the way the two of them go at each other in that cool way that I always thought had the best kind of chemestry, not sexual, just two people who brought out the best in their acting skills when they bantered. It was always my fav part when they got up to no good and then bantered. That underlying fierce protective thing they have for each other was in here as well. I loved it. And you hurt him so damn good. You are moving along well with your torture. I like how Alec used his mind to escape it. Very nice. And you're really getting good at it all. I tell ya, if you want to really get into the whole torture thing I can give you a way to go, since you know I jumped in that water canon ball fashion and didn't think too much about the rocks hiding in the water. Go to wiki and look up torture, it's frightening how much information is there and it can give you all sorts of info. I have tons printed up from writing torment and I'm keeping because I will eventually tell that tale, what I think is frightening is how little in there I didn't know (I have a scary mind) but it's fascinating and just reading will set off all sorts of bunnies that would actually fit with the sadistic ass White is I believe. I'm just all giddy and proud and thrilled because this was so well done and you actually didn't need to do more that what you did with the hurt part of it, it was balanced really well, and it served that whole *guh* factor we get over him being so injured and still had humor and angst and comfort and I'm going to keep running on if I don't stop. WONDERFUL WORK. when's the next one coming. (I think Ineed to get myself an ALec Icon to use for all the great alec fics popping up)

Thank you! =D I'm flattered you enjoyed it so much! I think my problem with the voices was that I've read so many bad DA fanfic, and so many recurring OOC characterisations, that I was scared I might subconciously fall into the fanon trap rather than sticking to canon. But, boy were they fun to write!! Normal was a hoot. I'm in love with this fandom, lol.And, like you, I love that chemistry b/w Max and Alec specifically because it's not romantic but more like siblings that annoy the crap out of each other but love each other deep down =D

I think I'm more into the angst side of torture fics rather than the actual torture itself, lol. To me, the hurt!(insert name) genre is about letting the other characters (and subsequently us) see a side of them that they usually keep hidden behind bravado. I don't think I could stomach reading about real torture, it'd pull it away from its fictional fuction too much, I think (I'm one of the super sensitive ones, believe it or not, I refuse to even watch horror films, lol) I get all my hurt! ideas from your guys' fics =D But I'm so glad you thought I did a good job with it, and I'm smiling ear to ear that you think I got the 'guh' factor down - that's what I was aiming for! It's fun to hurt the pretty *smiles wickedly*

Now see, I was warned about the bad DA fic out there so I've avoided reading it, but have really wanted to read some good stuff. I get the worry of falling into the fanon trap, I worry about having read so much spn that it'll effect the next two stories I've got stewing, the only answer is to watch the episodes. darn Ihave to watch spn and da over and over (life is such a burden)

fun bro sis moments I love (stuck in the closet bugging each other, and climbing the side of that building together and snarking) not to mention the whole late season logan and alec in the sewers and alec talking about max getting away with what she does cause she's so hot. cracks me up cause though that's not such a brotherly statement it shows alec knows the score (and furthers my belief that were max and logan not a OTP relationship alec would be all over her cause I firmly believe that boy is secretly in love with her)

yeah, I know that you don't get into the actual realistic aspects of the torture. It actually made me sick when I was having to read it (again partially because I seem to have picked up the knowledge somewhere) but yeah it's about the reveal of the inner strength and weaknesses of characters that we get to see that is a big part of the loving the hurt aspect of things. It's like when I was growing up and watching shows where someone would get drugged up, you'd get to see the person delirious and therefore revealing stuff you normally would never hear and then they would pull themselves together to overcome the affects of the drug or injury and pull themselves out of the situation with much drama and angst. loved it every minute and it's just so much fun to write. I've been told by my friends that they know they're reading one of my stories as soon as my main character gets the crap beat out of em. I've got a rep. lol. and now I discovered fanfic and know I am no longer alone in the world. it's fun.
