Surviving? Thriving? IDEFK anymore..

FRIDAY EVENING: Shortly after my last post I did decide to enjoy just enough of the Columbia birthday festival for the free cake... before driving back to Baltimore, working out, and trying to enjoy the rest of my evening. The PLAN was to go out to Alewife around 11... but I just collapsed in bed for the night instead.

SATURDAY: Woke up and was surprised to see a festival right within view of my apartment (an Inner Harbor crab festival) that was worth checking out... I strolled alongside it and got a few samples - but it didn't really seem worth it to spend a lot of time there (beer was all you can drink at a minimum price of $50, and the crabs were 6 for $35). Also, it's not like the exact same festival isn't happening in the National Harbor/PG County in 2 months, near where I'm moving to...

The day itself, interspersed with Hogsmeade stuff, involved going out to Barcocina for brunch, stopping for coffee, getting a beer at Pub Dog... and then FINALLY making it to Alewife late evening for a cocktail ("There's No Crying In Baseball"... it turned out the surprise was a miniature figurine interspersed in the ice cube).

SUNDAY: Headed out to the Paper Moon Cafe (which I remember going to as a young kid, even if apparently it wasn't open then) for brunchy French Toast... and did various walking/Hogsmeading/similar througohut the day... just trying to recover from it all. Late in the evening I felt like going for beer at Snug & Evil but it was closed so I went to Stalking Horse instead...

MONDAY: Normal workday, got back relatively early... and figured might as well take advantage of happy hour beer special at Brewer's Cask. I was pretty much out after that (when I got back) to the point of having to change dinner up a bit... and collasping in and out of bed from 11 PM onwards.

TODAY: Work took me out to Pasta Plus for a delicious farewell lunch (this is supposed to be my last week at the current site) and I finally received the news I was waiting for - only to later see other news that left me even more confused than before. (In other words, I have no idea where I'll be going... or even which STATE I'll be driving to... on Monday morning, but that's another story entirely).

Now I'm back at Petit Louis Comptoir with coffee to finish up my day, blogging it up, and trying to plan out stuff for the rest of the week (Thursday evening will be the Harvard club event; that night I'm staying with narianha before making it out to work... but the details of where I park will depend in part on the question of "where will I go on Monday?")

Meanwhile, my moving plans have become even more confused (the real sticking point will be that it might be super hard to do the Virginia car safety inspection at the time I planned... I'll probably need to leave work early some day next week for a NoVA inspection detour if worst comes to worst) and of course there are various social events I'm thinking of, both in MD and in VA before my early July vacation... *flails*
