I just got up and went for a walk on the West Bank. I have been sitting here in front of the computer all day without a rest, so rather than go take a cat nap I decided to try fresh air. What a good idea! I walked over to Global Village to get a birthday card for my dear friend Arthur, WINOLJ, and then went to Mapps Coffee shop. I had just exactly enough money for one birthday card and one cuppa joe (didn't bring my purse, which took tremendous will power). I did, however, bring my iPod, so I sat and watched the world go by to my personal soundtrack. Brahms' Ein Deutsche Requiem (gorgeous), Bob Schneider (toe-tapping), Sarah Harmer (bouncy, folky)...the soccer game between Manchester United and Milan was on the big screen, and students and beautiful, colorful, draped Somali women floated by the windows. It was lovely and wonderful. Now I am back and the end of the day is one hour closer.
