Wow, this didn't take me as long as I thought it would. Tagged by
in_the_blue.
The Rules:
1. People who have been tagged must write the answers on their blog and replace any question they dislike with a new, original question.
2. Tag six people. I know it said not to refuse to do this, but I don't think I know anyone who hasn't been tagged. If you haven't been… uh… tag?
01. Make a list of 5 things you can see without getting up.
I'm going to cheat, since I'm at work and what I'd be able to see at home says more about me. So, um… *thinks*
- My kotatsu table
- A pile of programmes and magazines from Takarazuka
- The third season of The Nanny on DVD
- Volume II of Ribbon no Kishi (manga)
- My mint green stuffed pig
02. How do you style your hair?
*Sigh.* I would like to say that I put it up in pin curls every night and totally rock the 40's pinup 'do (which I do, once in a great while), but of course I don't have time, and it's a little much for a normal day at work. My hair is silky and stick-straight, so I just curl the ends in with a curling iron in the mornings and sweep my bangs off to the side.
03. What are you wearing now?
Black trousers, grey socks, my inside shoes for work (black flats by Crocs), and this adorable blouse that's a white, ruffly, short-sleeved collared shirt with a royal blue faux sweater vest.
04. What's your occupation?
For ONE MORE MONTH I am an Assistant Language Teacher at Nantou Junior High School.
05. What are you hearing right now?
The rain outside. The sounds of the other teachers bustling about the office. Japanese that I'm not paying enough attention to to understand.
06. What's your favorite guilty pleasure treat?
This implies that I feel any guilt at all for eating the many desserts I probably consume every day. XD Of the things I currently have access to, chocolate mug cake? I feel more guilty for eating a whole can of chips (which I also do).
07. Are you hungry?
Not at the moment. I'll be starving in an hour. Though it might be held off a little longer today, as I had toast for breakfast this morning instead of cereal.
08. What's the most memorable thing someone's said to you this week?
From one of the elementary school teachers: "Hachi-gatsu ni, America ni kaecchau no? Sabishii ne…" Loosely translated, "You're going back to America in August? I'll miss you." It was the fact that she'd miss me and the verb ending "-cchau" that caught my attention. It conveys a feeling of something bad happening that can't be undone.
09. Dog person or cat person?
Cat person. Cat cat cat. Kitty kitty kitty. XD I actually used to be somewhat scared of dogs, due to an incident in my childhood involving a particularly friendly dog who just wanted to play with me. ^^; I'm cool with dogs now, but I still prefer cats.
10. What song is currently stuck in your head?
"Why Don't You Believe Me?" 11. What was the last thing you bought?
Two cans of Mtn Dew from a vending machine because it's the only place in Ise I've seen Mtn Dew. But before that? A massage. My friend and I went to an onsen last night.
12. If you could afford to go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Well, right now I would demand to go home. XD But I'm sure once I'm there for a while I'll be itching to come back here. My sister and I still want to hang out in Osaka and see more Takarazuka shows, go to an onsen and do lots of shopping. Somewhere new? Vienna.
13. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I'm not sure. Either with a boyfriend or a husband trying to figure out a life together, or maybe back in school, getting a Master's in International Business.
14. Last book you read?
The latest version of my sister's novel. Currently I'm slowly, slowly working on The Mystery of Edwin Drood by Dickens.
15. What are you doing this weekend?
No plans. I'm kind of on my own, because a lot of the JETs in my prefecture are going on a big camping trip. I'll probably be sleeping in a lot, maybe go let off some steam in karaoke by myself.
16. If you could play any musical instrument, which one would you play?
I have a guitar sitting at home that I still need to work with. But if money were no object and I could just magically acquire the ability, I think I might like to play the cello.
17. How are you?
I'M FINE THANK YOU AND YOU? …Sorry. Automatic response that all my students have learned to say at the beginning of class. O_o;
18. What are you doing tomorrow?
Tomorrow I'll be at elementary school, teaching four classes. After that, probably napping. And taking a loooong bath…
19. What are you looking forward to the most?
Going home to my family! 45 more days! :D
