love in the heian era

short post today. it took a long time for my batteries to charge up after yesterday's long ramble in nara, but i continued with another long ramble today (don't ask me why). feet in pain as usual...

i visited uji in kyoto. beautiful, beautiful place. parts of 'the tale of genji' were set here. i visited the museum and learnt that love in the heian era was probably just as complicated as love in this era.

the place is apparently famous for tea. lunch was cha soba. yumz.




anyway, it's christmas eve, which means the streets (and eating places) are full of families and couples. me? here's how i'm celebrating:

hehe. i think they are showing the movie tonight, hence there's this extra quick runthrough of both seasons going on right now. not a bad way to wait for christmas, in my opinion. (with beer, chips, pudding as companions, of course) ^^
