What: Ice skating!
Where: Some winter island we randomly decided they landed at
When: No idea. Now? It doesn't really matter.
Rating: Knowing us, it'll probably devolve into NC-17 at some point

"I'm not amazing at it," Usopp replied carefully, reaching out to take George's hand and steady her. "It didn't always get cold enough in the winter on my island for the lake to freeze." He smiled at her, excited and just a little nervous, since it had been a while since he'd done this. It wasn't so hard to stay standing while ankle deep in the snow at the side of the small pond they'd found, but he took extra care as he began to step onto the ice.

George followed, her whole body tense, as she was worried about falling on the ice. "You'll catch me if I fall, right?" she asked, squeezing his hand for reassurance as she took her first step onto the ice.

Usopp nodded and squeezed her hand back. "Sure. You can hold my hand for a while if that helps, okay? But..." He paused to test his feet and make sure he was steady with both blades on the ice--it really wouldn't do for him to fall and pull George down with him. "Uh. Oh, I was gonna say, even if you fall, it's not too bad. Because you slide, so it's not like falling on the ground."

Taking an experimental step and letting her foot slide, George nodded. "I know. I've been ice skating before. It's just. Been a long time." Since the first step seemed to go well, she relaxed a little, taking another step, getting them moving, albeit very slowly.

“Oh yeah. Sorry.” Usopp followed carefully, staying just a little behind her in case she slipped. “I bet it won’t take you long to get the hang of it again,” he said brightly. At least, that was the way it had seemed to work for him in the past. He’d be unsure and a little unsteady at first, but it usually didn’t take too long for him to feel okay picking up some speed, and even doing figure eights and simple things of that nature. He beamed as she pushed off and glided a little more. “See, you’re off to a good start already!”

George tightened her grip on Usopp's hand as she slipped a little, but not enough to be in risk of falling. She steadied herself and took another experimental step, shifting so she was gliding along next to Usopp, more steadily this time. "There we go. I think I'm okay now."

"Awesome!" Usopp looked over at George and grinned. "Want to try going a little bit faster?" Keeping pace with George was turning out to be trickier than he'd thought, and he hoped it might be easier if they weren't going quite so slow. He swept his eyes over the ice, trying to see if there were any obstacles that might trip them up. Besides a small patch near the far shore with a lot of cattails coming out of the ice, the small pond's frozen surface looked smooth and clear.

George nodded, pressing forward so she was gliding a little faster. She was really getting the hang of it. "This isn't so bad," she said, smiling at Usopp. "Thanks for bringing me here."

"No problem," he replied, finding it a bit easier to keep the same speed as George now that they weren't going quite so slow. They still wouldn't set any records for speed by a long shot, but they were now proceeding at a respectable pace. Sensing she was starting to feel more steady, Usopp moved a little closer, dropping her hand and linking arms at the elbow. "Not too cold, are you?"

George leaned into Usopp's arm, just happy to be with him. "Not too cold. But after this we should go get hot chocolate or something."

"Oh! I brought some! In a thermos. That's part of why I was asking." Usopp gave a small grin. "Sanji made it. So...if you wanna have some in a while, it's in my bag." He could feel her body heat faintly against him, even through the thick winter jackets they both wore.
