Sugar can be a dangerous thing.

The amusement park was...

Well. Loud, crowded, and having a rather unpleasant smell. But it could have been worse. Entertaining things happened. A child almost fell out of the Ring of Fire ride, for example.

I think Hattori may have eaten too much cotton candy. I'm going to have to have him take it easy on Halloween.

The peril of human children amuses you?

It tends to, particularly when they irritate me, which is always. May I ask what you are, if not human?

I will acquiesce, children of any kind are often irritating. However, I do not delight in their misery. The suffering of others is only enjoyable if they are able to at least attempt to defend themselves.

Youkai.

Oh, I agree. I would never inflict harm on a child; it would be boring.

Is that so? Interesting. That's something we have a little in common, then.

Then I see we are in agreement.

And what do you mean by that? Are you youkai as well?

Indeed.

Not as such. I've eaten a Devil Fruit, meaning that a demon is part of me and that I can use its powers. I have the ability to become a leopard, and various permutations thereof.

...you are a human who has become one with a youkai? A leopard youkai? So you are hanyou.

I believe there's a difference, actually - in this world, there are no true demons aside from the Devil Fruit. We're simply called "Devil Fruit users". What sort of demon are you?

Am I no longer in my own world, then? There are no youkai?

How...odd.

Dog.

It happens around here.

Dog. I see. And your name?

I assume you mean people arriving from other worlds unexpectedly?

Yes. Sesshoumaru. And you?

Yes. I'm a native, but many people you'll meet here are from other worlds.

Lucci.

I see. Do you know the cause of this phenomenon?

Lucci. You seem to be intelligent and have knowledge of this unfamiliar world. I am in need of a retainer. Have you any interest in the position?

Unfortunately, no. I imagine there's ongoing research in the field, but good luck to anyone who cares to do it.

I'm sorry, a retainer? Ha. I'm afraid my retaining days are long past, Mr. Sesshoumaru.

Then that is a problem.

It was worth the inquiry, at least. Thank you for your help.

Indeed. I'm afraid that, as the situation stands, no one can tell you how to get home, but that isn't to say that you're stuck here forever. Some stay for years; others, a few days. For all we know, if and when you return to your own world, no time may have passed in your absence.

I think you'll meet with little luck in the area of finding a servant here, unless you're interested in buying a slave.
