Post-24 : Debriefing

[Placeholder to be written later about the most fun dinner ever with Auntie Carol]

She tried to call and tell him she'd be back soon, but the mailbox picked up, and she promised him she wouldn't worry and so she drove home without letting herself think about why he didn't answer.

The house was dark as she pulled up and got out of the car. She opened the front door quietly, figuring he was probably asleep, and noticed the sliding glass door to the deck was ajar. She sighed and went to close it, but as she walked over she spotted a figure laying back on the deck chair with his hand wrapped around the neck of a bottle of hard liquor.

She stills, her eyes narrowing as she steps outside, her anger tempered with sadness and a sense of deja vu.

"Is this why you didn't want to come with me tonight?" She sounds more disappointed than upset. "I thought you were...I thought this was long past."
