Summary: Ever since Sungmin's mother died, she has always been living with just her father. However, one day, her father tells her that he's getting remarried, and along with a new stepmother, she's also getting a new stepsister. Sungmin finds it unfathomable that her stepsister is more beautiful than her, and resolves to do something about it.
A/N: Here's my fail attempt at a Halloween fic. Adapted from an old story I wrote last year. xD Also, the words in the parentheses, which is this --> ( text ), is Sungmin's thoughts.
Once upon a time, I was a happy girl; life was good. Then my mother just had to die (stupid car!) and my father just had to get remarried (stupid old lady and her daughter!). And I was definitely not happy after that. My father introduced me to my "new family"-some old hag (yes, old hag) and her daughter. To make things worse, the daughter was pretty; prettier than me.
They tried to bond with me (ew), spend time with me (gross), and talk to me (ugh). They were basically being the most annoying people on Earth. I just ignored them and eventually, they stopped (thank goodness).
One day, at dinner, my father announced that his business partner was going to come over to discuss some things with him. At first, I thought, Who cares? Since when have you actually been successful at your job? But he did not mention that the business partner's son was coming over too.
I tried to introduce myself to him, but he didn't really seem interested; he was focused on my stepsister. What's so special about her? Sure, she may be prettier than me, but it's the inside that counts, right? It's probably just because she's prettier; they always fall for the prettier ones, and that's not really fair.
But besides being prettier, I really couldn't figure out what he saw in her (she's kind of "slow in the head" to me), so I had to follow them around (no, I'm not "stalking") to find out why he was so infatuated with her. Seeing them on their dates just made me more and more jealous. Then, one day, after a few weeks of stalking following Kyuhyun and my stepsister, something inside me just snapped. And that's when I knew I had to get rid of her.
I was waiting for my stepsister in the kitchen, and it felt good to think about ways of making her disappear. Initially, I wasn't considering the typical way of getting the job done; it would be too messy, but I just hated her so much, that I decided to go along with it anyways, despite the massive amount of cleaning I would have to do and the effort of dragging her lifeless body up the stairs.
When she returned home (finally!), I greeted her and she responded with a look of surprise. Yes, I, Lee Sungmin, am capable of being nice. (Why do people always think I'm mean?) Then she looked at me with caution and suspicion.
Damn, I thought, I have to be more careful, so I can lure her into the kitchen.
When I finally got her into the kitchen (I told her I wanted her to try my pie, hah! When was the last time I baked anyway?), I made her sit at a table, with her back facing me. While she was distracted, I grabbed my knife (good thing I polished it last week), and I sauntered towards her with a menacing grin.
Oh, if only I could relive the wonderful moment; watching my stupid stepsister turn around with fear in her eyes, her screams that bounced off the walls (what glorious sounds!), how she eventually stopped struggling, and the grin on my (beautiful) face I know for sure, was the last thing she saw before she closed her eyes for the final time.
Unfortunately, the fun had to end; there was still the matter of the mess in the kitchen and dragging her body upstairs (she's really heavy; to me at least, anyways) before my father and that old hag came home.
After about an hour of two, I was able to clean up the mess in the kitchen, although my back started to hurt. Probably because I had difficult reaching the stains on the walls and the ceiling. But now, I had to deal with my stepsister's lifeless body. How was I going to get her up the stairs?
I decided to drag her by the arms; no point in good treatment since she's dead, isn't she? When I got to my room, I just opened the closet (ew, it's old and smelly), and threw her inside. It's okay for me to put her there because no one ever dares to go into my room, usually because I'm always in it, but even if I'm not there, nobody even tries to go near it; I would know, I have surveillance cameras.
Anyways, with my stepsister gone, I can now finally be happy and live my life in peace, right? But nope, I was wrong. Really wrong. In fact, I wasn't even expecting for this to happen, nonetheless, believing that it was possible anyway.
Turns out that my stepsister came back to life. In the middle of the night. While I was sleeping. What a twisted outcome.
First, I woke up because I heard noises coming from the closet, and I was getting angry because I couldn't fall back asleep. So of course, I went over to see what was the problem, and I jumped back a foot, because the doors opened, by themselves.
There was my stepsister, back from the dead. Yippee. I wasn't scared of her, even though she did look creepy with her hair covering her face (haircut anyone?), while wearing some hideous white, bloody rag (those weren't the clothes she died in, was it?). When she started crawling towards me, there was this weird sound (it sounded like a rattle) that apparently came from her throat (somebody needs some cough drops...), and I noticed that her arms and legs were freakishly long! (anatomically disproportionate!)
I knew she was coming for me, but I still wasn't scared. All I could think about, was how unfair it was, that even after death, my stepsister was able to gain supernatural powers! Why couldn't I have supernatural powers? Well, on the bright side, at least she looked horrible as she grabbed my legs and dragged me into the closet with her.

A/N: Hai guys~ I know I haven't posted anything in a while, but here's a Halloween fic to make up for that!
It's a fail Halloween fic because I didn't even post it during Halloween lol.
It feels like I'm always making up for never updating. I must admit, I'm not a [wo]man of my words LOL... OTL
In case you guys couldn't figure it out, and that's ok because this fic can be a little confusing, Sungmin was the main character, and Kyuhyun was the son of her father's business partner.
I think there's a lot of potential to this fic and that it could be expanded, but I wrote this over a year ago, so I've forgotten everything about it. xD
I feel like I cheated for this fic because I practically just changed the names of the characters and that was about it.
Anyways, I'm reallyyyyy sorry for not updating in so long, the life of a teenager girl is a hectic one. D:
I'm am currently working on Chapter 10 of Sleepless Nights, which is not really coming along nicely because I'm currently in a writer's block that has lasted for months. :(
My fb fic has also been postponed because I ran out of funny stuff to fill it with. TTwTT
But no worries guys! I'll never abandon fanfiction! So you guys don't have to worry about me never coming back! ^w^
Well, I've got to cut this author's note short (which is ironic because it's not really that short) since it's night time. ... It seems like I am always posting at night time, isn't it? xD
(11/3/11) Edit: I forgot to include this in my author's note (how silly of me! xD), but this story is actually based on the classic tale of Cinderella! :'D Notice how Sungmin, who is Cinderella here, has a stepmother and stepsister. I know Cinderella has two stepsisters, but it was difficult to incorporate both, so I just left it as one stepsister. 8'D
And silent readers~ don't be afraid to comment~ I welcome all comments (as long as they're nice please ^w^) at any time~ :]
Thanks for reading!~ :'D
