Hello!
Guys…I'm compelled to make a post because you know what? TV IS SO GOOOOOD AGAIN!!!
I'll go behind the cut to blather on, but I'm all excited about so much stuff right now. Some new and a few new to me, but fairly recent, and a couple upcoming ones I'm excited about.
So…behind the cut I go for gushing…
(
Tune In and Turn it Up! )
I'm a little nervous that the show and the computer game are linked together so closely, with one influencing the other - that makes me worry that characters may end up changing based on what happens in the game, rather than what I see on the screen, which could feel a bit jarring. Or I could be worrying unnecessarily!
Hmm... based on how excited you are, I may have to go and find copies of Oprhan Black to watch. A lot of the shows I've been watching are reaching the end of their season, so it'll be great to have Warehouse 13 and Longmire back :)

Yes! Truly. I'm quite thrilled about the possibilities. :)
and the writers have acknowledged that they've taken a risk by not telling the viewer much about the background universe early on. I struggled a bit with the pilot, I think because it felt like they were rushing a little to introduce the characters in broad strokes, but I'm hoping that as the show keeps going we'll see more nuance brought in.
Oddly enough, I rather liked the broadstrokes introductions. It totally reminded me of Farscape's first episode, which did something similar when they plopped Crichton down in the middle of Moya and didn't explain much of anything. I don't know, it works for me. :)
little things, like the way 41 people died in the battle, but the crowd at the Mayor's speech looked like sixty or eighty people, and I don't know if I'm meant to think that the battle inflicted devastating losses, or people aren't that interested in politics and the Mayor in Defiance.
*nods* I see your point here. I do think we'll get a better idea of the population numbers. I'm sort of thinking the point of mentioning the 41 dead sort of showed how that loss affected Amanda personally, instead of Defiance as a whole. And she did mention some numbers in the second episode, so I think we'll get a better feel for certain. :)

Here's hoping it's unnecessary. :D I'll be honest, I'll have a bit of a hard time if characters change based on the game simply because the game, from what I've read, is set in a different city. I can get behind some elements bleeding through from one to the other though. I think it'll be interesting to see how this concept works out.
OH! I hope you find some Orphan Black and enjoy it as much as I do. I also really love Continuum and just realized the second season is going to be starting very soon. I thought it would have a longer break...glad it doesn't!!
Great to hear from you!!
