Time for Another Catch Up in Skyville

Sep 16, 2010 02:38

Let's do another catch up with the happenings in Skysville.

First, the Great Garage Clean Up is moving along nicely. I've got most of the heavy work complete. WOO! I still need to hit the stuff up in the rafters and do some additional sorting, but the bulk of the hard stuff is complete. Gotta say…it feels great. : D

Next…remember the Total Drama Island stuff from a few months ago? I was summoned to court to testify for an assault charge on the female. The good news? They must've settled or plea bargained or something. I got a call the morning of the hearing telling me I was off the hook! YAY!

But…(You knew there'd be one, right?) Let's go behind a cut for the rest.

The bad news? Two weeks later I got another summons to appear on BEHALF of the female. Our neighbors were going for a criminal protection order (or civil…can't remember) and I'm supposed to testify for her side.

I KNOW! What utter madness. I called the attorney and asked what he wanted me for and his answer? I didn't see his client going ape shit on the guy and he wanted to establish that fact. Um, hello? That's a suck ass reason. And guess what…I was the only witness out of the dozen or so who filled out statements that he called? So basically, I see the least amount of the crazy batshit and get to be the lucky winner?

What suckitude.

But I did my bit, showed up and told them what I saw (okay…didn't see) and now have that lovely experience filed away. All in all I'm gonna stick with my plan of staying out of shit…unless another kid is caught between two adults who should know better. :D

In other news, my middle kidlet is loving golf. He's still on the high end with scoring, but the more he plays the better he'll get. : ) The oldest is happy with his electronic lab and we finally got all the tools he needs to do his work. The youngest is very into reading this year and keeps bringing home new books to devour. So far a great start to the school year.

I'm still writing away. I updated my author blog if you'd like to take a gander. I'm starting to showcase some manuscripts and generally try to get in the habit of blogging on a regular basis. Easier said than done for me. LOL

Hmm…what else. OH! I started back with Avon this month. When my mom got bad I couldn't handle trying to keep up with orders and take of her. If anyone is interested there's a link on my sidebar that'll take you to my web store. :D

Now that life stuff is out of the way, let's take a look at what's been on the SkyView List:

Netflix Marquee:

Sons of Anarchy - What can I say? This show totally, completely kicks ass. I got the first season on DVD couldn't wait to get the next disc. Once that was over, I couldn’t wait for the second season to start coming so I downloaded all the eps and marathon watched. Seriously…the cast is great, the characters are awesome, and the writing is so damn good. I got caught up just in time to start S3 in real time…and holy shit it's off to a roaring start. I may have to go back and do some SkyCaps of the episodes on this show. : D My second season discs start arriving this week and I'll be watching them all again. The commentaries are always a good listen.

Burn Notice - Watched all of S2 and started on S3. I love this show. Another cast that has terrific chemistry and Michael and Fi are made of win. See…you can have a couple that's not exactly a couple and keep it fresh and interesting. It's totally possible.

Seasonal Fare:

Hmm…what am I watching?

Warehouse 13 - Pretty decent season. I wanna see how the finale ends up and we'll go from there. I seriously think Pete needs to be a wee bit more mature. I love how funny he is, but the juvenile humor grates sometimes.

Eureka - I'm actually really happy with this first half season. There were a couple of eps that were…eh…not exactly anything to write home about. I'm kinda excited that Syfy is doing a holiday episode. I'd love to see it become a tradition a la Doctor Who eps on Xmas day. Come on Syfy…get with the program and start an annual event.

Haven - Gotta say I'm sucked into this one. I hope they can keep me glued. As long as the snark keeps flying, I'm there. :D

LOUK - So glad this is back. First ep was excellent and I'm deffo looking forward to more.

Merlin - Almost missed the return of this. Morgana going darkside should make things very, very interesting this series.

ETA: Shit! Almost forgot to add True Blood. Finally caught the last ep and yeah…this was a sorta bumpy season but the last three eps really brought everything together. Looking forward to S4. :D

I'm really not all that interested in new shows I've seen previews for on the big nets. This saddens me greatly. I'll be tuning in for my former faves with a few possible exceptions. NCIS (both versions) are on tap. SGU, Caprica, Sanctuary are must watch. If I get caught up on Supernatural I'll be watching it also. I'm thinking of skipping Bones this season. The stuff I've read just makes me cringe so yeah…we'll maybe watch that on DVD at a later date.

Other than that, I'll try to catch the CSI eps Katee stars in.

I still need to finish up Seeker. I seem to have misplaced the disc I burned with all the episodes. May have to add this one to my Netflix queue. : (

Late Great Rewatches:

La Femme Nikita - Did a complete rewatch. I'm trying my hand at fic in the fandom so the rewatch did me good. Stay tuned. :D

Murdoch Mysteries - Such a great period show. The lead actor is perfect in the role of Detective Murdoch and I'm looking forward to see more if it comes back.

First Wave - The series that introduced me to Sebastian Spence. Just finished my first ever watch from beginning to end. I've probably seen all the eps…but out of order. Gotta say the continuity from the beginning…so damn helpful. LOL

Up next…not sure. I'm thinking maybe Robin Hood.  Or possibly Dark Angel and/or Survivors. I've been in the mood to watch post catastrophic event stuff lately.

And wow…I think that's it for now. I swear I'm going to do a post on stuff I've read recently one of these days. Until then…

Catch everyone on the flip!

Cheers!
