Maple Gleam for balloonpup
First ponysona come to fruition, this is Maple Gleam! I stumbled upon balloonpup asking if anyone did MLP art, I mentioned that I made customs and here we are now! Maple Gleam is made from a G4 Applejack with a custom mixed FBR. She's rehaired with Raspberry Sorbet, with hand painted eyes and symbol. Her symbol is a red balloon animal. She is sealed with Americana's High-Gloss Sealant and Decoart's Triple Thick Seleant.
I learned a lot with Maple; about paint mixing, sealants, stripping, the list goes on! I had her body color perfect when I started, but I could never replicate the color after the first attempt. Then I had to strip her body of all the paint I did because I'd put on too thick and had to repaint her head when I could get the colors to match. I was annoyed by the stickiness of her body before I put on the Triple Thick, but now that she has her final layer of sealant she's the right level of shiny and smooth that balloon wanted!! She's so smooth that I can't put her down, lol. Styling her hair was interesting, mostly because of the bangs. I put her mane in a sloppy straw curl then brushed it out. I clipped her bangs and kept my comb wet while I brushed it so they would sit down. I had to put a little ribbon around her neck because the seam looks weird and I can't seem to fix it. I'm a little afraid her head's going to fall off. Could get the neck plug back in, so her head doesn't pivot. I'm not happy with the reassemble.
She's got a little buddy who's suppose to be a little latex/vinyl puppy. Balloon loves rubber, balloons, and things of those nature, so I thought he'd be a nice little surprise. He's painted red like Maple's cutie mark and sealed with Triple Thick. He needs a name~~
