Trade Blanket's
When we go to PowWow one of my family's Favorite things is the trade Blanket. That's where we take everyday Items and craft items we have made and trade them for other items we want or need.
There are usually two trade blankets The first Sat night after the dancing is over . That's usually more craft and nicer items for trade. Usually my daughter goes to that one and can come back with anything. Last spring she traded her old purse for 4 boxes of girl scout thin mint cookies.
Over the years I have gotten a lot of beads and other crafting supplies that have gone into some of the things I have made.
Here's two of My favorite things that I have gotten in trade.
The first is this flower pot I got in 2001 for one of my smaller hair pieces. The lady I traded with had made it and had a couple pieces I could choose from. I like the dragon flies it has on it.
It sits on my kitchen window sill. I just transplanted the aloe that had been into it into a bigger pot. When the Aole gets bigger it will be used on all the burns bumps and bruises we get around her.
My other favorite piece is my horse vase. Last fall I took the first 5 Harry Potter books on cassette that James had given me for trade. I trade those to a young man whose parents are pottery venders. The vase is about 7 inches tall. Here it is with Sarah's rose from Graduatiion in it.
I really love it and I am hoping buy some of there other pieces in the furture.
