Fred's wedding

Well, the first of Thierry's friends has now officially entered married life. Fred and Sandrine got married in a pretty little church to the north of Paris. We, well, missed a good part of it.

I had been making fun of thierry all week for wanting to leave two hours early, and that landed right back in my face! We got stuck behind an accident for 15 minutes on teh Paris beltway, and as we left there to head north, a truck caught fire and we were stuck in a tunnel for 45 minutes. Fortunately, the fire was just outside the tunnel, but it was crazy nonetheless. We got to the church about fifteen minutes into the ceremony, but then got stuck behind a pole, so I didn't really see much.

After the ceremony, we had hors d'oeuvres and drinks nearby, and then went to the reception hall for a typical French five hour meal. The dinner was fabulous, and dessert was the kind of thing you dream about. A huge wedding cake, plus at least eight other cakes, mini mousses, crème brulées etc., huge fruit platters, crèpes & toppings, ice cream, and lots of tiny little desserts. So amazingly delicious!

The boys did pretty well with their first friend-wedding, but they did seem a tiny bit shell-shocked. They did all look very dapper, though.
