today was nice :)
today was awesome!
two classes this morning, both were watching student presentations.
then my last french class. we had a feast! i made madelines. and class got out early on the best day it possibly could have....
i called dan and we headed down to acoustic jave where we met up with prof. martin and kate boyer, the professor from RIT that was giving a takl that evening!
So here's the deal- a couple months ago CUGA decided to bring a speaker to campus. I took charge of the event and it became my project. I took care of the whole thing- inviting Kate and making sure everything was arranged. Finally meeting her today and having her lecture go so well was incredibly rewarding.
So we spent a while chatting over coffee, which was so much fun. The talk went great. There was a good showing- which had been my biggest concern. And Kate was amazing! She's so smart and gave an amazing lecture. Her work on the feminization of clerical work and changing work spaces is so interesting. I loved it.
I am in such a good place in my life right now :)
This university has given me so many opportunities and resources to succeed and the people I have met and who are influencing me are amazing.
And oh yeah...
My dad called during my french class and left me a voicemail...
he bought me a car.
loves it!!
1991 corolla. bright red. CD player. 70k miles. and it's not a minivan. fantastic.
now i really can't wait to get hoem so we can get all the paperwork and insurance taken care of.
