When I just tried to open www.livejournal.com a few moments ago, I got nothing but someone's icon with a really ugly female Sim and the text, "This is my happy face, bitch." I have no idea what that was about. When I hit refresh, LJ came up ( Read more... )

i am doing protein shakes 2x a day which is 90 gms of protein - without that i would be sunk. doing the golden door plan (sort of) a mix of certain key foods, turkey, salmon, blueberries, soy, tea, spinach, oranges, broccoli, beans, green leafy salad, tomatoes, a few others, and near-substitutes for these (other citrus for oranges, other vegetables for broccoli) some foods they consider virtually magic: salmon, spinach, blueberries, salad with tomatoes the main ones. the idea being to eat these in combination and they work synergistically. another book i have says eggs are the ideal protein the body recognizes as most efficient so the best substitute for anything else. when i get sick of turkey i'll do eggs.

at the golden door they taught us to put olive oil in a plant mister and spray just a little on things. also that if you dilute vinaigrette 50% with water it doesn't really taste much different.
also to make guacamole with 50% ground asparagus. believe it or not besides the texture being less smooth it tastes the same. mainly they just use a lot of vegetables, these key foods, and small portions and then you exercise your ass off. it does work. i have lost 18 pounds! yea!

I have heard that about eggs. Whey is supposed to be easier to digest, but eggs have some fantastic combination of nutrients. I just hate eggs so much that I won't eat them unless they are buried under a bunch of really bad for me stuff. I'd rather eat turkey slices or tuna for breakfast than eggs!

I have one of those misters -- just haven't gotten around to using it, which is silly. But I don't mind having some fat in my diet, especially if it's good fat, as long as I stay in my calorie range. The guacamole idea sounds fantastic.

It sounds like a great plan, overall. And go you! 18 pounds is a lot!
