SYTYCD

My overriding opinion hasn’t changed over the last couple of weeks, and this week’s performance and results shows reinforced it: As far as I’m concerned, they can eliminate all of the women except Katee and keep all of the remaining guys. And bring back Gev.

I loved the guys’ dance and for me it highlighted how much better the guys are than the girls this time around.

I liked Kherington okay, but after Wednesday’s performances, I think she was the right girl to be eliminated. I personally would rather lose the Sea Hag, but she danced fairly well so I can’t reasonably expect her to be gone.

And I don’t think any of the guys should be eliminated at all.

America’s Best Dance Crew

Are you freakin’ kidding me?! ASIID?!!? Gah! *cry*

Actually, I kind of love them all and don’t want any of them to go. But ASIID?! NOOOO!

Also, Lil Mama, I would like to take a vacation in your brain. It must be a lovely fantasyland in there. I’m sorry your favorites cease to amaze you every week, though. (Gah! I never thought anyone could be more inarticulate than Paula Abdul, but she somehow manages it!)

Project Runway

It’s too early for me to have sorted most of them out. And it seems like there are more contestants this time. Did we always have 16? I thought it was 12.

I almost cried when I saw the grocery store, and then Austin!!! Austin!!! What a great way to start off this show’s last season on Bravo and with this production company.

I was as disappointed as Tim and the judges that so many of them used tablecloths/shower curtains. That was lame.

The molded cup dress was awesome. So was the crochet-mop string top, and the winning vacuum cleaner bag dress. I thought it was gorgeous.

The bottom two were two of the funniest outfits I’ve seen on this show in a while -- the psycho-nurse/slasher film losing outfit, and Blayne’s um, diaper thingy (especially with Blayne’s over-confidence about it). I laughed so hard I cried. Thank you, Project Runway, for bringing the lulz! My guilty confession of the week is that I kind of hope Blayne stays around for a long, long time and makes more hilariously awful outfits. I just looked at that thing again and ... Ahahahahahahahahahaha!

1. If you could change one life-changing event in the life of someone important to you, would you?
No. Unless I am the person in question, because then the consequences belong to the person who’s doing the changing. But otherwise, absolutely not. I cannot know every way in which the event affected this person. There may have been positive consequences that outweigh the negatives and I’d be taking those away from them. (Exception: If I knew a kid who made an outcry statement to me that they were being abused, I’d do everything in my power to get them out of that situation, including reporting to CPS, even if the person the kid accused of abusing them was a good friend.)

2. Which do you think is easier to do, being friends for many years, or being life partners for many years?
Your life partner should first and foremost be your best friend, so I don’t see any difference.

3. Have you ever walked away from someone you considered a friend?
Yes.

4. If you had to choose between telling the truth and hurting a friend or lying and making them happy, which would you choose?
That depends. If it’s a little white lie I might go with it. If it’s about seeing their husband kissing another woman, I’m going to tell the truth.

5. Which would you rather hear--the truth which will hurt, or the comforting lie?
Again, it depends. If it’s a situation I can change (including removing myself from the situation), I need to hear the truth. If it’s that you hate the type of toy I put in your goodie bag, I’d prefer you not tell me.

Name five fandoms that you're not (yet) in, but which seem intriguing.

You’d think I’d be all over Supernatural, since it’s horror-genre, but I’ve watched it a few times and it doesn’t work for me. Can’t get into Who or its derivative, either. I tried to watch old Who a few times and the way it’s staged irritates the heck out of me. I don’t really know what else is out there. I’m not really watching scripted TV anymore, at least until Dirty Sexy Money comes back. I could use a book fandom to get into, though. I could use some suggestions. Any ideas, anyone?

My horoscope for today ended ominously:

“...[Today, e]veryone returns to his or her usual wonderful self - though there are no guarantees about the cat.”
