Happy Friday! First, I’ll share some fun Pegasus News Items with y’all:
“Film guy John endured the on-screen Daniel Day-Lewis spittle-fest that is There Will Be Blood and survived relatively unscathed to write about it.”
And a headline:
“Celebrity Goat Milking Contest followed by Goat Creative Costume Contest
In the Cattle Arena”
I hope someone shows up dressed as Aberforth Dumbledore.

Odd Thomas Do you like any of your school photos?
My senior year high school choir photo was decent. But that was a long time ago. I look at them all with amusement now.
Do you ever blowdry your armpits to get the deodorant to dry quicker?
Hahahaha! I’ve never heard of such a thing!
What was the last film you watched?
Hostage, reviewed

Oh, Roseanne! You quit being relevant several years ago. Why are people in the entertainment industry with “Rose” as part of their name so yucky?
And a column I enjoyed a lot:
Phone-People vs E-people I’m an E-person. My family members (especially my sister) are phone people. So this column really resonated with me. My favorite quote about phones:
“They are the electronic equivalent of a toddler, pulling at your skirt while you are in the middle of something, saying, "mommymommymommymommyNOWmommywant mommyNOW."
Another thing of note - Ms. Crittenden says that once it’s possible to order pizza online, she will likely do so. A few commenters clue her in that it’s possible to do so already. I order from Papa John’s online every once in a while myself. Mmmmm, pizza!
Last night’s TV:
Celebrity Apprentice
I think Ms. Comenici was actually glad to be cut loose.
And thank you Stephen Baldwin and Gene Simmons for showing the world just exactly what sort of misogynist douches most men in the entertainment industry really are. That was the best lesson to come out of this episode.
That said, the men’s ad was much better than the women’s. The ladies tried to put too much in and missed the mark on what they included. Who gives a poodle away because it’s put on weight? They were projecting their own issues onto the dogs, and it just doesn’t work that way. Also, their voice actors sucked. The guys got super lucky with having Trace their to do their voice work.
I do think the women used some fairly good boardroom strategy by not including Marilu. Nadia was ready to go, wasn’t contributing anything and by putting Carol in there, they kept Marilu as an asset they could use further down the line.
Make Me a Supermodel
Is everything ANTM wishes it was. They crammed so much into that episode and almost none of it was interpersonal drama.
I didn’t vote, but I might further down the line. I mainly didn’t vote because I want the two long-haired guys off my TV, even if they get their hair cut, because I think they both have really bad attitudes. Katie does need to tone, though.
The ads for Top Chef Chicago are getting me really excited. W00t!

Celebrity Apprentice Thoughts:
So, I’ve been thinking about Omarosa’s comment about the white light meditation she didn’t choose to engage in. I have two separate problems with her behavior and reasoning. First, I think that by refusing to participate so pointedly she was being disrespectful to her project manager and devaluing Nely as a team member and as a person. She didn’t have to do anything other than stand there silently with the rest of them in order to participate. Also, I thought she was being snotty and babyish.
And then there’s her reasoning, which is in my opinion flawed. No matter how much I try, I can’t find any way to consider white light meditation existentialist bullshit. In fact, I think it is the opposite of existentialism in that it assumes there is some sort of higher power, which is a concept existentialism rejects. In fact, an existentialist would probably point and laugh at such new age shenanigans.
I am strongly inclined to use a Princess Bride quote in this situation, but it gets thrown around so much that it’s becoming cliche, so I’ll pass. But y’all know what I mean.
