American’s Next Top Model
I missed the first 15 minutes or so, thus I do not know what the challenge was. I like Dionne (Wholahay!!!) and I am glad she won (along with Renee who I don't like, but I do appreciate her bringing the drama). As for Whitney's exit, that was really not a surprise. I know Tyra wanted a plus size model to do well, and she did get pretty far, but they all seemed really down on her pictures. I think she’ll make an interesting actress if she tries that. She may find herself limited, though, as far as roles because the industry loves little stick figures.
It was fun seeing contestants from previous seasons. Michelle seems to have picked up a little polish. I'm surprised they didn't have anyone impersonate drunk Brittany. And Jael trying to be Rebecca was a real hoot. Rebecca is still one of my absolute favorites, ever, and I was delighted to see her, if only for a few minutes. I don't remember any twins. Were they from last cycle?
Jael bugged me more this episode, though there are things about her I really like. But she truly is incoherent. And Renee is, of course, Renee. They’ll both be with us a long, long time. I think Jaslene’s going soon.
American Idol
Another not surprise. As much as I liked Haley and don’t think there was anything wrong with the way she dressed, I’m tired of her being vilified for being an attractive young woman. And if someone like LaKisha had been voted off before her, the backlash would have been nasty and hateful and made me very, very angry with people. Problem is, there are only two people left who fit the “pop star” definition physically, Chris and Blake, and I really, really, really do not like Chris’s voice. At least I still have Blake left. Oh, I suppose Sanjaya fits the pop star definition in a way. Just not for me. But I have come to the point that I really don’t care if he wins. He’s at the very least quite marketable. But I’d still rather have Blake win.
