Been away for quite a while, I never keep up with blogs as I don't really believe anyone reads mine. The main reason why I reactivated my lj account was to join communities. I think communities are where I will be most active, and given that, there probably won't be very many updates of my personal lj page.
I recently got back into knitting. My grandmother taught me to knit, many years ago, and as I got into school and time went on, I stopped. I started working on small projects again around last December. I didn't really apply myself or take it too seriously and so never really finished any projects. Someone at work is an avid knitter, and decided to start a small knitting group there. I figured I'd go to a few meetings, but wasn't really expecting it to lead anywhere. Most folks in the group are just learning to knit. After the first meeting, I felt the urge to actually pic up my needles again and complete something worth while. I'm happy to say that I've completed a few projects since then. I;ve completed a "Quant", as seen on knitty.com, and a pair of fingerless gloves, the "Fetching" pattern on knitty as well. I made a pair of punk rock corsets, link to follow later.
I am also just starting a shrug. I've never tried to knit anything more complex than a scarf or mittens before. It's a fairly simple pattern to start with, but if it works out I'll try a sweater as well.
