I had enough time on my hands to do so, so I figured: why not?
Am currently waiting for the text to come in from Santa -- no, not the one at Christmas, she comes in to give me Reflexology sometimes when I have cash to spare. I've been thinking of getting a massage for the last couple of weeks; my feet ache a lot, I get cramps. I know it's probably not the solution but I know they're tired and this is going to be something of a treat for myself.
After all, I have a handful of things to "celebrate", so to speak. Other than that I'd just really like to indulge in this. It's been awhile, so yeah... why not?
Today was a good day. Not a long one despite being filled to the brim. I went to class, contributed to the last batch for workshop, submitted my papers, listened to Sir Peter's parting words. He's heading to the States, we all wish him luck. There was a little talk about how to go about the revisions, Billy, one of my classmates, suggested that we run our revised pieces amongst each other. I think it's a good idea, we're likely to do it unless submissions for finals get out of hand (god, I hope not).
I went to Buko with Kam
slpwlkngdreamer, she brought a burned copy of the last couple of chapters of PoT so I finally caved and checked it out. I transferred the final volume into my harddrive so I can read it at my own leisure now. Hope
coffeebased dropped in a little later, there was a brief interview from a friend of hers (St. Scho, lowerbatch) on the topic of bringing back Nuclear Power to the Philippines. Lots and lots of opinions flying around. It was fun.
Was brought up to speed on the EPIC that is the Beijing Olympics. I missed that one, been incredibly tired and I don't watch too much TV now anyway, but I distinctly remember Dad alternating the channels between CNN and the updates on the thing going on in Georgia and the coverage at the Bird's Nest. I crashed. Was really, really tired. It's all I ever am as of late.
Not so tired today though, and I keep on blinking at the clock because at the time I'm writing this little bit it's 8:13pm and that's new to me. Lately, things have been a mite hectic here at home that dinnertime is usually just around this time. I'm glad that we ate early though. We left some salad for Dad. He's still out at UP. There is sole fish and balled-and-breaded ground chicken. Good meal, good food.
Received this postcard the other day. I meant to post about it yesterday but work got insanely weird and I completely forgot about it. Friday felt like Monday the way the calls were coming in. The in-betweens (read: distractions on Meebo) were nice though. Caught Cyn
vacivity, Marie
untidy and Rika
redmoonmurder. Lots of crack, laughing, crazy and talk. Oh yeah, and I got introduced to Tory. I don't think we scared her off, I really hope she considers joining up in the game:
the_girls_team ftw.
Going back to the postcard: I miss Sammu
alluriel. Wow, deja vu much? I said this a couple of entries back; the feeling hasn't changed. But yes, it pretty much made my morning when I stumbled downstairs half-asleep and found the postcard sitting on the white table.
And while she's not likely to see this for a lack of an internet connection:
Dear Sammu,
Kam says you are evil for going to the Viking Museum without us, but we both hope you took lots and lots of pictures. You are comPELLed to show us. And yes, my love, there are no polar bears in mainland Norway -- floofy or otherwise; sad, isn't it? LOL. Also: the Nobel Peace Prize Center was totally high-tech? I'm officially putting that down on my list of places to visit in the event that I come unto a large sum of money that I can spend solely on travelling. Either that or your Yumi's cousin can fund us. He doesn't have a credit limit anyway. And yes, mistress of all things wonderful and sparkly, I am writing fic. This is how I cope without you bugging me for it after all. =P
♥,
Noey & Kam
P.S. If it wasn't obvious enough: we miss you a lot. Prepare to be smished to death when you come back.
Listening to tracks off of the Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo OST (there's a download link
here for anyone who's interested). Hope got me the movie and it's sitting in my harddrive right now. I can breathe easy, I can write my paper this week. =P And yes Rika-my-love, I am going to plot out that fic.
Speaking of writing, it's been ages since I actually invested any thought and writing into original pieces. It's been difficult (as if I have not said this enough, I swear, I will record myself saying this and will play it over and over in my mp3 phone until I am sick of hearing it -- and then maybe I shall be cured of mentioning it), mostly because I can't seem to think up anything that latches onto me the way "Manika" and "Aperture" (oh you, you need a lot of work) did before. That's changed tho.
Lingered at Yellow Cab with Kam and Dee
prolixbrevity after Hope left. I love our little Saturday quartet. It gives me a sense of normalcy in a life whose normalcy is abnormal for me. I managed to gather the courage to just babble to Kam and Dee(licious? Haha, Hope it's sticking) thought of an idea that's been undergoing food prep in the kitchen of my brain. It's a relatively new playground for me to work on and I'm pretty excited about the project. It's also pretty awesome timing since the writing bug's kind of bit me and the "itch" to put out material is something that I'm still scratching.
I've got the four main characters already moving about in my head. Dee's offered to conceptualize the design for "the orb" (I really need to think up a more original name for it). I wish I could draw as well as some of the people I know, but I'm probably going to try to see if I can summon the courage to at least get down an odd and very, very rough sketch of what I want for the way my new kids look.
I'm happy with the names though, or at least the ones I've approved so far: I have "Caty" -- ha, she wants her own original "story", who am I to deny? For those who are familiar with my baby, she'll likely stay the same, I need something familiar to latch onto. Then there's "Crow" (hee, Manda
shini02, this one's a tribute to someone in
letsgo_roadtrip) who is still rough around the edges, but she's slowly getting there. I considered calling her Magpie, but Crow just sounds more like the chracter. And then I have 103.B14.060685 or "Maite", since yes, she has a name. And then there's "Alan". I might change that last one, but it popped out of the blue and I like it.
Dee, Kam. Plz to be giving feedback. I promise before the weekend is over I shall have at least something for you guys to read.
This is a good day. A very good day. ♥
