I'll be honest. Since leaving my son in Portland, I haven't kept up with current events. A
post at Boing Boing caught my attention:
The idea of
blowing bits of the moon up bothers me, because I believe that the moon is not ours to blow up. Blasting synthetic craters on the lunar surface for the purpose of finding water or habitable land -- which we'd have enough of if we weren't screwing things up so furtively, back home -- just disturbs me.
Uh, why are we blowing holes in the moon again? We've been to the moon. Men have walked on the moon. We can't walk on the moon again to see if there's water? The solution is to blow a five mile crater in it. Who the fuck is running NASA? One of the space chimps?
