Preponing

Jul 02, 2006 23:29

When all the irate airline customers missed their flight because the plane left early, the woman at the counter cheerfully explained "sorry, the flight was preponed." Real live travel story related tonight. (India circa 1981.) Many many more good stories and tales and discussions and considerations over quite good chow tonight. One of the most pleasant and fun small fambily get-togethers in ages in fact. (Just me, mom, her hubby J, and my l'il bro Gid.) Dinner at Mola (nouvelle Mexican tapas). Dessert and coffee/tea at Alcove (major yum action). I like my fambily.

Good day w/mom: driving 'round and checking out olde stomping grounds (where she lived in SM during the war (WWII) and where various fambily bits lived), hanging out at mi casa chatting and catching up, lunching at RFD, driving to Silver Lake via Sunset Blvd, etc.

O'morrow: laundry and packing - or at least the final listing and faux packing (to see how much'll fit into the wheelie) and probably/hopefully the dealing w/the camping crap including packing light(ish) for this summer's trip(s). I'm driving to WA & OR so don't need to worry too much 'bout packing light, but I'll fly to Canada so want one bag's worth in mind for that portion of the summer adventures.

Interesting stuff going on internally...feeling a bit balloony/untethered (but not in a particularly bad way).
