Another week gone by...
Ugh another busy week, but I guess I have a few things to update about.
I've noticed that my staff is becomming more divided this semester now that Mo-T is gone and her crony has left.... The new staffers, are throwing off our balance of power.... one of them is a JesusFreak and the other is almost as moody as Miranda... one bitch was bad enough but I can't handle two! Miranda keeps interupting me at meetings to correct me or defend someone else.... I can't even friendly banter with the other guys without her correcting me. She really needs to fucking mind her own business before I tell her where to stick it. I do like our new hall director Amy though, she's a nice lady, though a bit more laxed in some areas; she is a lot more organized and effective than MoT was.
In other, slightly related RA news, my residents are being really obnoxious right now. I can't seem to impress upon them the importance of quiet hours and following the policy to the letter. I was giving them some slack but after last week's fiasco I'm kicking back into full enforcement... ugh dumb asses.... I'm definately going to the X(2) -upperclass- dorms next year!
So far I'm keeping caught up in my classes, though challenging as they are. I'm in some hefty upper level TC/ENG courses right now (Advanced Rhetoric, Technical Editing, Writing Tech Manuals) so those will suck up a huge amount of my time. Econ is a bitch but I have to get it out of the way; it's my last gened. I'll be glad to be done with the CS tract too, I'll have to take "LOG 301" whatever the hell that is... lol
I am enjoying the Writing Tutor position, I had a very nice tutorial this morning with a gal from Michael Martin's ENG 102 course. It was refreshing to see that she actually had a very good start on her paper and there were few (if any) mechanical problems. She mostly needed help with citations, researching techniques and confidence. It went very well for my first tutorial! Woot!
