Snow Storm
There was a snow storm Tuesday and Wednesday. It started off as snow, and then sleet and freezing rain, and after that, more snow. Total we got 5.5" inches. The ice is soo thick that you can literally walk on top of the snow.

PenDot Disappoints
Ohhh....and everyone is sooo pissed at PenDot (the gov't center that deals with the roadways). Apparently they only had 40 trucks because of budget cut backs. If you haven't heard in the news (it made US News), a stretch of I-78 and I-81 (two major highways) have been closed for hours, on one of these, people have waited 36 hours on the road stuck. Even Route 11 out to Gettysburg was closed for 9 hours. I haven't been on the roads yet (no school! yay! schools are still closed tomorrow (Friday) because the roads are soo horrible. Mom says you basically follow the ruts on the road, because most roads haven't been plowed yet. We actually had a plow get stuck in our development. It's all icy...like a skating rink.
ER Show Fails Wiccans
I am soo pissed! Tonight's ER had two Wiccans in it, who got hand fasted (our weddings), and they couldn't cut the cord that bound their hands together (no wiccan would have used that thick of heavy duty construction rope, usually a ribbon is used in a hand fast). The guy in the couple said that you have to go to the courthouse to get married because Wiccans are not certified to marry. Bull!!! Wicca is recognized as a religion by the federal government and yes, 3rd degree wiccans can get a marriage license.
Ohhh...and then they said that they didn't believe in life-time commitment so they renew their marriage if they both want to after a year and a day....while some wiccans can arrange this, but can also arrange a permanent lifetime vow. I was very disappointed. And then one of the doctors walked out of the room and said, "Come on now. Don't ask questions. They're Wiccans."
We try very hard to improve our image and the media continues to stereotype and degrade wiccans. Sorry that I believe in the old religions. Yes, we're bit like hippies, but we seem to have an inner peace and open mindedness towards others than what non-wiccans are less likely to have. Not saying if you don't believe what I do you're going to be that way...I've seen many Christians with inner peace and open mindedness, and that is cool. I'm all for open mindedness. Boo ER!!!
