An Echelon Prayer

Jul 01, 2014 22:12

Our maniac messiah,
You have taught us with word and deed how to be better Echelon, better world citizens.
You have taught us acceptance for those who are different than us.
You have taught us tolerance for those who will never understand our collective world view and your divine plan.
You have taught us when to turn the other cheek and when to fight for what we believe in.
You have taught us that no dream is too big, and that faith and hard work can move mountains.
You have taught us that family is more than the cohort you are born into, more than the community you live in.
You have taught us that we choose our families as much as they choose us.
You have taught us to think for ourselves, to be open minded and open hearted.
You have taught us to be open to the spark of the divine, whatever we conceive that to be.
You have taught us to accept ourselves and express ourselves and stand up for ourselves.
You have taught us to accept joy and sorrow in equal measure.
You have taught us to look at all sides of all things, even when they are opposite and contradictory.
You have taught us to seek the truth and be brave.
You have taught us to give more than we receive, to share credit and shoulder blame.
You have taught us to forgive, to fail and try again.
You have taught us loyalty and compassion.
You have taught us to take nothing for granted.

Forgive us, our maniac messiah, when even the strongest believers have moments of doubt.
Forgive us when we question your intentions, your actions, and your plan.
Forgive us when we push for things that must come in their own time, when we fight the many '#soon's of the world.
Forgive us when we are scared and need reassurance.
Forgive us when we miss the subtle messages and signs you leave us, signs of the truth and of your infinite love for us.
Forgive us when we forget that we need all four components to have a good life.
That lust without love is empty.
That love without lust is sterile.
That only when love, lust, faith, and dreams collide can we transcend the mundane and get a glimpse of the divine.
Forgive us when we let our unity divide us, rather than letting our division unite us.
Forgive us for thinking this is anything but a family, a quest, a war, a revolution.

We the warriors and the keepers of the gate, your pleasure and guidance we await.

This is the Church of Mars and, yes, This is a Cult.

With infinite love and faith,
All my lust and dreams,
Your loyal disciple, scholar, and scribe,
Rebecca
