"Fight Club"

Now that was one weird ass movie. Someone mentioned the "surprise" ending so I knew that much was coming, but the movie certainly wasn't predictable. Ok, besides the little "surprise" all I knew going in was it was about an underground men's fighting club.

Ever think you've read something or seen something and you know there's depth there but you're just too confused to see it? That would cover this movie. I'm sure there was some big statement there about breaking away from the mundane and materialism and stuff but it left me more puzzled than anything.

Jared worked with David Fincher on two movies. This and *looks up* "Panic Room".

Was watching an interview with Jared this afternoon. The interviewer asked him what he looks for in a movie. He said the producer, the script, and the character. I know he was really into working with Fincher. I don't get it.

And except for Jared's strange attraction to parts where they beat him senseless, I don't see anything to make the role stand out. Except for the fight where he got himself badly beaten, it's not a particularly large role.

Is this movie a guy thing? I usually get guy movies cause I have a traditionally male personality type. Don't get this one.

I understand when Jared said he wanted to work with Oliver Stone and Andrew Niccol, but I just don't get Fincher. *shakes head*
