My Thoughts...

Lost:
Brilliant. It seems I was worrying for nothing when I thought the writers might grow too confident or comfortable with their writing skills. I'm so glad they are still dishing out the same great eps as last season.

However, I enjoyed this weeks ep more than last weeks. The storyline between Locke, Jack, Desmond and Kate is interesting, but it is starting to lag. I still have no idea what the heck is going on down in the hatch. Have we really gone through two episodes and still know next to nothing about what is going on? I have to admire the writers for their ability to leave the audience in such suspense, which they often do in each episode. An amusing and clever gift. But the best parts, IMO, happened in the Michael flashbacks and in the scenes between Michael and Sawyer. I have a new respect for Michael because of his love and dedication for his son. It is a shame he was made to feel he wasn't good enough to be a part of his son's life. And did anyone else want to give Michael a hug? I almost cried when he was yelling Walt's name, then I did cry when he was sobbing on the damaged raft. It was such a simple scene with very few words, but it was one of the best scenes I've seen in a long time. Michael and Sawyer are fast becoming my favorite characters (behind Locke, that is).

Can't wait until the next ep!! Yay for Jin still being alive, I was really worried there. But bad, bad Charlie. He needs to destroy that Virgin Mary statue before he disappoints a lot of fans. We also need more Hurley scenes to start appearing. And I wonder if Shannon is supposed to be "sick"? And if this person Desmond is asking about is on the island somewhere. Maybe the answer to one of the many questions will be answered before Season 3. ;)

Veronica Mars:
Where to begin? Unlike Lost, this show was a bit disappointing. It might have been due to all of the flashbacks and back-and-forth relationships. I feel like I missed an entire season of the love triangle. Logan and Veronica made-up, Logan found out about his father being a killer, Logan was almost charged with murder and Veronica stuck by his side, Logan plays pranks and Veronica calls it off without even talking about it first (is it just me or does anyone else think she is too quick to call it quits? the guy had one hell of a year, afterall. who could blame him for wanting to have a little fun after his father killed his ex-girlfriend and then tried to kill his current girlfriend?), Veronica and Duncan become friends again during all of the drama, Veronica and Duncan start dating two weeks after the Logan/Veronica break-up, etc., etc. I still feel like I missed a hell of a lot.

So.... Is anyone actually buying the whole Duncan and Veronica relationship? They seem rather wooden on screen together. And I know the writers don't want a Wallace/Veronica relationship, so why put her together with a guy who is very much like Wallace? Wallace does have more personality, but Duncan is basically a white version of Wallace. I honestly can't see those two as anything more than friends. It is strange to see them on screen as a couple now. But maybe this storyline will give Duncan a chance to gain more of a personality for the viewers to see. They could also be putting them together because Kristen Bell has said she wants them to be together. Either way, I can't see it working out. Veronica seems too confused about being in a relationship. And she isn't the naive and innocent girl she was when they had the perfect romance from before. He seems more like the safe choice for someone who is quick to run from a relationship now, but the new Veronica needs excitement. How many PI's stay with the safe choice?

The Logan situation with CC's character is kind of creepy. But I can understand why he is doing what he is doing. Plus, it was amusing how he asked her if Dick and Beaver could come out and play. This is obviously going to end in disaster though. I suppose it is too much to hope that Veronica won't find out.

All in all, I'm confused about how I feel about the new season. The premiere may not have been handled the best but the second episode shouldn't be so cluttered. The ending to this episode was quite good though. I hope that means the rest of the episodes will be back to being as good as last season was.
