dictation
I am making my first attempt at dictating a blog post. I'm surprised to learn this is working. None gave me a copy of Dragon NaturallySpeaking for Christmas this year. Or last year I guess. I was doing a lot of complaining about how hard it was to keep up with e-mails and blogging and Facebook updates and assertive thing while holding Maranda, who prefers to be held.
The first thing that I've noticed is that it is misspelled Maranda. I will have to go back and correct that in my profile. So far it seems like an impressive application though, for instance and knows how to capitalize Facebook and it seems to recognize that Maranda is the name, even though it doesn't know how to spell it.
Dictation seems like such an old-fashioned idea. I can like the idea of having a secretary sitting in the outer room typing up everything I'm saying. Perhaps I should rename Dragon something like Marta. "Marta, take the letter."
