I finally passed the half-way point last night. Even though I'm a little behind, I'm excited. I still have two full weekends, and no family in town for Thanksgiving, while depressing, at least means a little bit of writing time over the holiday, too. My story is starting to fray around the edges, and I have to resist the urge to go back and edit the earlier stuff. Right now, I'm making my goal to get the whole story out. I still have so much I need to say, I can't waste time on clarifying and reorganizing. I'll find time for that after November is over.

Part of the process has me sampling heavily from real life. I feel a little awkward about that. I know some of my characters have a lot in common with people I know, but I can't tell if it will be obvious to other people who the characters are base on. Also, I don't want people I know, if I ever allow this to be read, thinking that it isn't fiction. Other than that, though, I think this may be the first draft of something I could actually let people read someday. It's exciting! I'm excited, anyway.
