I'm back from WV. All of the services and such went pretty well and I tolerated spending time with hordes of unknown family members reasonably well. I'm still feeling a little sad, but that will pass in time.
Following the funeral, I had a reasonably pleasant 2-day work week, half of which was spent in Ohio. I've got a few big projects on my plate that I'm going to have to give some serious attention to next week if I'm going to make any of them go away.
It also looks like there's a better-than-even chance I'll be making a trip to China/Taiwan in a few weeks for one of my projects. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything comes together on that. We'll see.
I've been suffering from a bit of camera (DSLR) envy lately and have spent the past couple of weeks researching my options. At the moment, I'm less impressed with what nikon has to offer and I don't think my current 10-year old Nikon lenses really compare to the current offerings. So, I'm looking into either a Canon 400D (Rebel XTi) or 30D. The 30D is maybe 40% $ than the 400D, so I'm debating the justification for spending that much more. THEN, I'm gonna have to buy at least one lens (probably a 17-85mm Zoom).
I spent some of this morning going over my budget for the year and it looks like I should be able to fit this in ... or maybe I want to take a trip ... or I do the smart fun thing and save the money ... or perhaps something else.
