How much do I love this episode, let me count the ways...

That airplane model really must mean a lot to Kate for her to go through all that trouble to get it from the safety deposit box. And also to not tell Jack about it when telling him about the case. Just add one more mystery to the list!

The preview for next week's episode is really what has my head spinning (so much for any trust I was beginning to have in Locke). I've read some rumors about Boone and Shannon's relationship and I'm dying to know where the writers take their backstory. If what I'm reading IS true, I'm not sure how they're going to overcome the "ewwww" factor.

Well, I don't know what you're reading, but if speculation is what I think it is, then they might get around the ewwww factor if they're adopted brother and sister or... something. Anyway, I was kind of hoping for Shannon / Sayid there. There may be a lot gained in that relationship... although... nothing that might not be gained otherwise by just staying platonic map translation buddies...

BTW. my jury's still out on Locke. I can think of a bunch of reasons why he'd clobber Boone for the greater good.

Same here...and according to this show's M.O., they're only showing us that scene to misdirect us. They love that, don't they?

True, but there's still something about Locke that I'm unsure of. I just can't forget when Sayid came back talking about the French woman and "the Others" and Locke had that look on his face as if her already knew something. Bottom line, I suppose, is that he doesn't have to be all good or all bad. If there is anything this show is good at, it's showing that everyone has a "gray area" to their lives.

And Locke is as gray as it gets. The image that sticks in my mind the most was from the episode where Locke made the whistle to find Vincent and then gave Michael the opportunity to pretend to have found him for Walt. It was that look at the very end of the hour, that strange calculating look in his eyes as he watched Walt and Michael finally bond.

And why would he lie about what he saw in the jungle?

And what's he got against Michael anyway? I mean... other than the fact that Michael trusts him even less than you and I...
