Overslept this morning....thought we were gonna be too late to meet up with the tri delts for Race For the Cure....so we literally ran downtown to Main Street, and it poured the rain....finally found the tri delts, and everything turned out ok. :)
I cant even put into words the impact Race for the Cure had on me. I mean, I hear about stuff like it going on, but I have never participated. Everyone who walks is there for a purpose. They either knew someone who had it, or were survivors themselves, or just wanted to help. At the end of the race, we were divided into 3 categories to cross the finish line. Men, Women, and Survivors. The survivors had to run under this tunnel thing, and on the opposite side, there was a HUGE archway of balloons, and cheerleaders, and people were yelling and screaming, and as soon as i saw it, it just gave me chills. It was absolutely amazing to be there and watch people who had beaten this awful disease support the cause. I dont know how else to describe it, other than incredible. If you havent ever done it, i definitely recommend it...it mattered so much more to me than getting up early, running 2 miles/walking 1 mile, and being completely soaked.
