Gard yourself with Gardasil

Oct 16, 2009 07:28

Browsing the Merck website after a conversation with coworkers yesterday about Gardasil-

In response to a reference I made about how states and parents are concerned that the vaccine promotes being sexually promiscuous;
"If you got your kid the Hepatitis C vaccine, are you worried that now they'll start using IV drugs?"

It makes me happy that there's a program to get vaccines to uninsured people already.

Shots covered by this program are:
  • GARDASIL® [Human Papillomavirus Quadrivalent (Types 6, 11, 16, and 18) Vaccine, Recombinant]
  • M-M-R® II (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella Virus Vaccine Live)
  • PNEUMOVAX® 23 (Pneumococcal Vaccine Polyvalent)
  • RECOMBIVAX HB® [Hepatitis B Vaccine (Recombinant)]
  • VAQTA® (Hepatitis A Vaccine, Inactivated)
  • VARIVAX® [Varicella Virus Vaccine Live]
  • ZOSTAVAX® [Zoster Vaccine Live]
Worth looking into. I'm not 100% sure that they cover Gardasil after age 26 but who knows?
