Browsing the Merck website after a conversation with coworkers yesterday about Gardasil-
In response to a reference I made about how states and parents are concerned that the vaccine promotes being sexually promiscuous;
"If you got your kid the Hepatitis C vaccine, are you worried that now they'll start using IV drugs?"
It makes me happy that there's a program to get vaccines to uninsured people already.
http://www.merck.com/merckhelps/vaccines/home.html Shots covered by this program are:
- GARDASIL® [Human Papillomavirus Quadrivalent (Types 6, 11, 16, and 18) Vaccine, Recombinant]
- M-M-R® II (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella Virus Vaccine Live)
- PNEUMOVAX® 23 (Pneumococcal Vaccine Polyvalent)
- RECOMBIVAX HB® [Hepatitis B Vaccine (Recombinant)]
- VAQTA® (Hepatitis A Vaccine, Inactivated)
- VARIVAX® [Varicella Virus Vaccine Live]
- ZOSTAVAX® [Zoster Vaccine Live]
Worth looking into. I'm not 100% sure that they cover Gardasil after age 26 but who knows?
