Round #8 - Challenge #3 - Results

Apr 13, 2009 00:07

I nearly skipped off to bed without doing this. Hope everyone had a nice Easter. The votes were all over the place and had some surprising results. Challenge #4 will be up shortly. I also realize I need to catch up on banners, expect that this week.

Sadly we are saying goodbye to 1 icon maker tonight:

Tally
I am not like most LIMS mods who count the total of negative and positive together to determined who gets boots. It's math and I don't do it well. So therefore you are eliminated by the number of negative votes only. - indicts negative, + indicts positive. In case you are wondering I am doing the comments like this from now on to protect voter's identities. Remember these are here so that you can improve, not to be insults.

#1. -2, +1
#2. -1, +0
#3. -1, +3
#4. -1, +0
#5. -3, +3

Negative votes
#1. the image is too dark and the texture is overpowering.
I like the emotion it's showing, but the colouring/texture is a bit too strong.

#2. Amazing crop & good start of colouring, it just needs more vibrance or contrast. It's too undersaturated right now.

#3. horrible use of texture.

#4. doesn't look like much was done to the icon.

#5. lack of coloring.
the crop is nice but the bright colors at the bottom don't compliment the icon and is distracting.
the main image is very nicely colored but the texture is to distracting.

Positive votes
#1. interesting cropping and coloring.

#3. very fun and interesting crop. the coloring is very nice.
Great crop & texture use.
picture, position, color and texture all match together.

#5. it's simple but the pattern adds something fresh and nice to the icon.
It's really simple and pretty. And I love the use of texture.
creative and i like the coloring.
