MY STORY FOR JAPANESE WAS CHOSEN TO BECOME A PLAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
*throws confetti in the air*
Okay okay okay. I can't believe it! Like, my classmates chose it to become a play xD xD So, here's the translated version of my Japanese story! xD xD
In the spring of 2007, I entered Waseda University. In front of Waseda University, there stood a huge sakura tree. That place is an important place for me. I met a mysterious person there. That boy was standing right in front of the sakura tree. But that time, I didn’t see him that I stepped on his foot.
“Ouch!” he screamed.
“Oh! Sorry! I didn’t see you!” I said apologetically.
I felt so embarrassed that my cheeks went red. Then the boy laughed which made me even more embarrassed.
“It’s okay.”
“I am really sorry. Um… Excuse me…”
“Yes?”
“I just entered Waseda University, so I don’t know where the library is.”
“Oh, I’m just going to the library. Let’s go together.” He said.
“Really? Thank you!”
Then, he and I entered the campus and walked to the library. While walking, we weren’t talking at all. Then.
“What’s your name?” he asked, breaking the wall of silence between us.
“Ah! My name is Murakami Kana. I’m 18 years old. Nice meeting you” I bowed.
“My name is Nakamura Ryo. Nice meeting you too.” The boy said sticking out his hand. I was quite confused, but I just shook hands with him. We continued to walk to the library.
“Uhm… Nakamura san…”
“Just call me Ryo” he said cooly.
“Oh, okay. Ryo, are you a new student too?”
“Naw. I’m on my second year already.”
“Oh… so you’re my senpai then…”
“Yeah, but please don’t call me Ryo senpai. Ryo is just fine.”
“Okay”
We arrived at the library.
“Hai. This is the library now.” Ryo-kun said pointing at the large building.
“Thank you so much!” I said happily.
“Oh, I have to go to class now. I’m always in front of the sakura tree. Let’s meet after school.”
“Okay, I’ll meet you then.”
“Jya!” he said, waving. He walked away.
“Oh! Kana-chan!” said a familiar voice which belonged to Chiyo. Chiyo is my cousin going to Waseda University.
“Good morning Chiyo!”
“How’s this university? Are you nervous?”
“I am really nervous. This university is really big ne?” I looked around emphasizing the size of the university.
“It’s okay. Don’t worry. I’m right here to help you.”
“Thank you, Chiyo.”
After school, Chiyo had to go home early so I was left behind. Then while I was walking past the sakura tree.
“Kana-chan!” a big voice called. The voice belonged to Ryo-kun.
“Oh hello Ryo-kun!” I said as I walked toward him.
“Let’s walk to Waseda station.”
“Okay sure.” I smiled.
He and I walked together to Waseda station. But all the time, Ryo-kun was walking right behind me. I stopped walking and turned to him.
“Ryo-kun, are you okay?”
Other people in the street were looking at me, but I didn’t know the reason why.
“Oh, Kana-chan. I’m really sorry. I left my economics textbook in school. Go to the station by yourself and don’t wait for me.” He said quite distractedly.
“No no it’s fine.”
He ran back toward the university. That guy is such a weird person. I just continued walking to the station, with a smile on my face.
That night, Chiyo called me.
“Kana, do you have any problems related to the university?” she asked.
“No, I don’t have any problems. But um… I have a question.”
“What is it?”
It was something about Ryo-kun. I just thought that Chiyo might know Ryo-kun.
“Ah. Um. Nothing.” I said trying to forget the question.
“Oh okay. So, let’s go to school together okay?”
“Yeah okay. Where are we meeting?”
“Since I live in Nakano and you live in Takadanobaba, let’s meet in Tozai line’s Takadanobaba station.”
The next day, Chiyo and I met in Takadanobaba station. When we arrived in Waseda station, I asked Chiyo the question that was stuck in my head.
“Chiyo, can I ask you one question?”
“Un. Sure”
“Um. Do you know Nakamura Ryo?”
“Un. Yeah, I know him. Why?” she said quite confused.
“That guy is always standing in front of the sakura tree. He’s an interesting guy.”
“Kana, when was the last time you met him?” she asked me questioningly.
“Yesterday. Before I entered the campus, I met him.”
“I see…” she said thoughtfully.
We were both quiet. Then when we exited the station…
“Um, Kana-chan. Nakamura-kun died a year ago…” she said quite sadly.
“Eh?! That’s a lie right?” I said quite surprised since I just met him yesterday.
“It’s not a lie… He had cancer 2 years ago… Then a year after he got the cancer, he died.” She said as we were standing across the sakura tree. I was staring at the sakura tree, and I saw Nakamura Ryo standing right over there.
“But…. He’s just right over there standing in front of the sakura tree!” I said shockingly.
“Kana, there’s no one there….”
Then, right in front of my eyes, Ryo-kun slowly disappeared.
So please tell me what you think! Thank you!!!!!!
