Last night I booked bus tickets and a hostel to Stockholm, June 12-15. Felt good to get that squared away. A load off my back.
However that load was put back on at around 13:15 today as I arrived back to my apartment. I found a very nicely written letter from my landlord saying that he is terminating our lease and I have to be out by June 15th. Yeah, he's a røvhul. I wouldn't be as pissed if when I had talked to him 2 weeks ago and said that I was leaving the 27th, if he'd said 'no, you need to be out before then', but he didn't. He said it would be fine and that's what I assumed seeing as my lease goes until June 30th. But apparently since he's given me a month's notice it's legal and such. Overall, I'm not going to get him to change it...I'm just going to roll with the punch. Luckily, Grace will be out of her rented room by June 5th, so there's a possibility that I'll be able to rent her room for the last of the month. The main sucky thing is that I'll have to move all my stuff out on the 11th, as I'm in Stockholm 12-15. Luckily I'll have one paper done by June 1st so I won't be quite so pressured. I feel bad for Anne though (who got the same letter), as her mom is coming on the 14th, and of course she was planning on staying here and she has exams past June 15th. Hopefully it will all work out for both of us. In a weird way I guess I can see it as a blessing or at least as motivation to get my second paper done as soon as possible so I don't have to deal with it. I must admit I've been somewhat productive today. But also this news has made me really look forward to going home and not having to deal with stupid barely grown up Danish hoodlums that decide to rent out rooms to foreign students.
Tomorrow afternoon I leave for Bornholm, a popular Danish vacation island. It should be a good time. Nice scenery for sure and both Helena and Anne are going, so at least I know some people. Okay kids, have a rest of the week and if you have time, please send positive productive thoughts my way!
