another bus adventure
lul and i wanted to buy oedipus rex, so we decided we would by it at Barnes and Nobles at the Del amo mall. since we do not have cars, our only transportation was the public bus. i took the bus to melissas house, when i pulled the stop signal, the slow bus driver dropped me off two blocks from my stop. so when i get to mel's house, i knock and knock. i thought she just couldnt hear me, cuz last time i had to call her to tell her i was outside her door. so after 10-15 minutes of knocking she was still not asnwering, at the time i didnt have a phone, and i saw a phone booth across the street, so i descended the stairs. then something caught my eye, there was a note on her mail box, i dont know why she put it there and not on the door but who cares. the note said that she had to drop off mahabir junior and that she would be back soon. so i went up the stairs again and sat to read crime and punishment. the bus dropped me off around 11:25 and melissa came back around 12.
after that we took another bus and got off at pch and western, we thought that bus stop that was gonna take us to the mall was there, but there was no bus stop. according to lul, judis said that we would need to take the 3bus, but ther was no bus stop to be seen. so we decided to walk down western and look for the bus stop at western and lomita. there, we were just completly lost, we were tired from walking and hungry from not eating breakfast. we found a pay phone and decided to call judis, to see if she knows where the bus stop is. when we got a hold of her, wasting about $1.00 on the pay phone, she too did not know the bus stop route.
now at this point we were ready to just eat at rally's and go home, but we decided to ask this kind and helpful man seating on a bench waiting for a different bus, and he told us if we crossed the street we could still probably take the #9 bus all the way to the mall. And to our great relief we made it to the mall.
we ate some chickfile, brought lul's dad a fathers day present, brought some shirts, lul brought a book for qui's birthday, i was looking for oedipus rex, but they didnt have it. i did see some books by zane author of addicted. afterwards we still need to go to bath and body works for their big sale, so we had to skip on the starbucks. i had little money to spare so i only brought a dollar soap, and lul brougt 10 dollars worth of lotion. feeling proud of overselves for having made it to the mall on our own, we walked back to the bus stop, as soon as we turned the corner we saw the bus was about to come, so we start gallopin with our bags of things to the bus, we started slowing down cuz we were tired and the bus was barely stoppin at the stop. there were about 20 ppl waiting for the bus stop, so we figured we could now walk, since the ppl will be getting on, but to our disadvantage the bus didnt pick up and passengers and left us.
and so....be thought we had to wait for a whole hour until the same bus came back and it was 4 o'clock at the time. but luck was on our side after all, we had taken other bus schedules with us, and one bus would take us to this other bus stop which would take us home, yay. and to our surprise the bus we need to take came within 5 minutes, although two of the same bus came and we were confused on which one to take. so we did inny-minnie-miney-mo, and hoped that we picked the right one, haha, just kidding. i had to stand up during this bus though since i had to take time looking for fifti cents. then we got off this bus, got on to another one, and went home.
we didnt see a lot of weird ppl in the bus, except this old man who kept lookin at lul, and she also got a mamasita from this dude, and some car honks.
we finally made it back to mels house at 5:30, at then which i had to take another bus home. and now i sit here contemplating about how much melissa and i take the bus and how it helps the community with less traffic and the environment with less pollution.
