oh my goodness its may
So, I definatly cannot believe that it is May! Gasp!
I want classes and work to be over. But I don't want to leave all my beautiful friends behind, I don't know what I'm going to do without them over the summer. Tear.
I cannot imagine this year if I hadn't moved into Newman. Serisouly, this is the best place to live ever. I don't care if you're not Catholic, live here anyways. I have met so many awesome people that are so friendly. Here's a list of the things i love about Newman
1. Never having to walk more than like 5 minutes anywhere.
2. Cafeteria being open like all the time.
3. The fact that I get a sack lunch with my name on it. Its so cute.
4. The desks are huge.
5. They have ceiling fans (even if I felt like the room was going to explode one day because of them.)
6. Everyone sits with everyone in the cafe.
7. Everyone smiles and talks to everyone.
8. Jimmy in the cafe.
9. There are priests and nuns everywhere.
10. There are sinks in the rooms.
11. The beds suck(oh wait, this was a list about the things i love not hate...oops)
12. 24 Hour Access to Chapel
13. Leaving for mass 1 minutes before it begins.
14. the void
15. The fact that people always go to the social hall to study, but really, never EVER get anything done. and we're all pretty okay with that.
16. You can play the piano anytime (well or listen to some person who is a MILLION times better than you are)
17. They have cleaning ladies.
18. Sometimes it smells like church. Who'da thunk? I mean its not like I live in a church or anything.
19. Lewis Lounge...soo dark...soo comfortable...yawn...
20. KMASS! okay thats not Newman really, but anyways I still love it a lot.
21. The ramp leading into the void...its fun on bikes and rollerblades.
22. The fact that it has Coffeehouses, Casino Night, and a Formal! And a yearbook! Its like the small high school I never went to!
23. The fact that when you say grace before meals, everyone will probably be saying grace too.
24. Talking about God or saying I'll pray for you is a common subject.
25. People here sing.... A LOT. which, is GLORIOUS!
26. The little stoool by the mailboxes...and when its not there, having tall people lift me up to see if there is mail in my box...because I just won't take their word for it.
27. The library...who else do you know gets distracted by Catholic books?...
28. The fact that Bridgets room faces Jesus's butt.
29. the first floor bathroom because it had lights and stuff. what a way to go...get it?!?!
30. The computor lab. I spent a lot of time there, and I've never had so interesting memories. from the 4am paper writing parties to the constant trying to fix the broken printer- it never failed to amuse me.
31. The couch that is placed right next to the mailboxes,so that when you don't, for the millionth time, receive anything in the mail, you can slump there. Along with a few other people just as deeply saddened as yourself.
32. Murphys- the unofficial bar of all things Newman. At first, I thought that I would hate it...no dancing, do these bars exsist?...but then after a few nights with Newman folk on each side, I realized....they do! and they're great! Except don't dance on the tables-they frown upon that.
