What is it about human nature, at least mine, that I have this need to hoard dvds? I don't think I'm a particularly acquisitive person normally, clothes, shoes, makeup, jewelry bore me. I don't think I own a single pair of good quality undies, they're all bought in panic when I run out of clean ones - the last purchase consisted of purple ones with geishas stenciled on the butt... Nor am I interested in designer stuff, the right candle holders, sofa, etc.
And yet when it comes to books and dvds and tapes, i have this seemingly insatiable need to buy and collect and *have*. i mean, I'll probably never ever get around to watch even half of what I've bought and *cough* ah, aquired in other ways. So why do I continue doing it? Why do I spend so much money and time on the act of collecting? Is it the gloating factor of looking up at the bookshelves filled with movies and shows I'll never watch?
Quite possibly the money going to dvds could be more usefully be employed in paying off part of my mortage but I still find myself buying. Hmmm, I wonder if there's a dvd collector's anonymous?
