I think I love him more today than I did that day.

What? What did I do wrong on our wedding day? :(

I want a ferret.

Give it up. Girls hate ferrets. I want a ferret too (or a Jennet) and every time I tell Steph, she hides poo in my side of the bed. And sings off-key until my ears bleed. Girls hate ferrets.

Melissa and I went to Petco last night, and I went STRAIGHT to the ferret case. I had never even been in the store before, but I just KNEW where the ferrets were. There were ferrets rolling around, fighting each other, biting each other on the necks and playing, ferrets climbing boxes and skittering at the plastiglass to say hi to me. Ferrets drinking from water bottles. I was just cooing and giggling and watching them.

Then we went and looked around and saw the snake cases. Melissa freaked out, so we didn't stay too long there... just long enough for me to say, "oh, let's get that python! Look, he's waving to you!"

Be really sure of how your cats will react. To be healthy and happy a ferret will need the run of your house, just like a cat does... which means it needs to be able to get along with your cats. The ferret will love your cats just fine, seeing as ferrets are essentially permanent stinky kittens, but your cats may feel as if the ferret is just upity prey. I am not kidding here. Also keep in mind that ferrets can get into places cats can't. One of my ferrets was fond of going underneath doors.

Let me emphasise that ferrets are not good caged pets. They are cats, not gerbils. Also, they shit in the corner. You will need to house train your ferrets and unless you're very lucky with the training you will likely need to buy special ferret litter boxes. Perhaps as many as one litter box for each corner of every room for your home.

I love ferrets, though. They are sweet. If I didn't have children or cats, and was able to keep a much cleaner home than I do, I'd love to have ferrets as pets again.

Ick. I didn't like ferrets much to begin with, and you just reinforced it. I want a ferret-free home.
