(no subject)
it's tuesday which means i've got four more days until vacation. vacation next week will consist of being in toledo at maumee bay state park for a family reunion on my dad's side of the family. it's usually a pretty good time, despite the fact that i haven't seen many of my aunts and uncles since the last one, which was three years ago. wait....check that. that's a lie. i saw a lot of them last summer at julie's wedding. this year will be fun, mostly because erin will be there for a few days, as will blade. racquetball, tennis, beer, and whiskey. though probably not all at the same time.
the weekend was good....worked on saturday and then hung out with erin, randy, jess, ryan, and julia. i went to my parents' house on sunday fully intent on washing my car, but it kept looking like it would rain so i didn't bother. on friday, erin and i saw hairspray, which was funny. there's a new theatre up here in mason by work, so we went there, and i was floored by the force of the hand dryers. right over the spout where the hot air comes out is a little sign that says "feel the power." boy did i. i thought it was just being pretty ambitious about its self. when i told erin about it, she said, "does it move your flesh?" it was a good question, so we both checked it out after the movie. yes. yes, it does move the flesh.
beach house is done, but i don't love it. matt and i are hopefully going over edits friday night and then we'll start on the next draft. i think it needs a healthy dose of re-write. i came up with a short story idea the other day and hopefully i can get that nailed down over the next week or so. i'm concentrating way too much on screenplays lately and my other writing is starting to suffer both in quality and quantity because of it. not that i want to stop writing screenplays; i just need to be more well-rounded.
it's sales week at work so that means 80% of the office is out at the meeting (which is being held in boca raton). i was pretty ambitious yesterday and got a bunch of work done, so now i'm wondering what i'm going to do for the rest of the week.
