miami-hamilton closes at 12:00 on fridays in the summer. i drove out to hamilton friday afternoon to have some work done on an old corona typewriter i have. there's a typewriter place out there and it is the only place i know that repairs the machines. so i decided to swing by miami and visit the bookstore, pick up a few things, revisit some old memories. but it was closed.
erin and i went to a wedding on saturday, which was a pretty good time. unfortunately, erin woke up in the middle of the night and wasn't feeling too well. much of yesterday she was struggling.
i've been listening to a shins song over and over and over again. it reminds me of what seems to be a failing friendship between me and one of my oldest friends. it had me feeling pretty torn up for a while, but i've come to realize that you sometimes cannot change the way people act and think. what bothers me most is how hypocritical it has become: someone who has told you over and over again how much his friends mean to him, how important they are, and then to see how willing he is to throw them away without any explanation.
picked up a clutch and mogwai album at everybody's yesterday. i'm really looking forward to the clutch show next friday; i think it'll be a good time. i'm also going out to chicago to see the cure in september.
there's some woman who lives on the third floor of my building who has me confused with someone named chris. this is rather bothersome, as she will call out "chris!" from her balcony and then realize her mistake when i turn around.
