My life is boring and I am suffering writer's block. Thus this entry is about boring stuff in my life, like watching my brother perform at his first non-school concert (he is a bassist, and apparently pretty good according to people who know about stuff like that). I was so proud of him and recorded the whole forty minutes of their performance on my phone :) They were playing songs like Slide by the Goo Goo Dolls, 3AM by Matchbox Twenty, I Wanna Love Somebody Like You by Keith Urban, All Summer Long by Kid Rock and My Happiness by Powderfinger. So all in all, no chore to listen to at all. And my brother was the youngest person playing in that concert - at 16, he's two years younger than half of his bandmates. Go him!
In other news, I can go for my green P's on Remembrance Day. I am slightly scared, because the test is a hazard perception test done by touch-screen, so I can't practice online :/ I hope being able to drive 10km faster is worth it (FYI, red P's=restricted to 90km an hour where doing such a speed isn't in contradiction of the posted speed limit, green P's=100km an hour). That and being able to carry more than one person not related to me around after 11pm. I swear, Australia's driving rules are super strict, especially for young drivers. It's a good thing, I'm sure, but darn is it frustrating at times.
Also, we have a backyard again! It was previously overrun with weeds, since our mower died a couple of years ago and we never got around to getting a new one :/ But Dad and my bro attacked the weeds on the weekend with a whippersnipper and a chainsaw. I am proud to say they were successful :) Also the weather is warming up and I am Not Happy, Jan because I'm one of those ridiculously white people who burns after ten or fifteen minute's exposure to the sun without sunscreen in summer. And I need to do exercise like wow, but it's also bird swooping season so I really don 't want to walk to the pool, and I don't have a car, and it's too freeaking hot to walk anyway >:|
Seriously, at 11.30am in the early middle of spring, it is already 28 degrees Celsius and expected to hit 33. Summer will be worse, hitting high thirties through to high forties every day for at least two months, probably closer to three or four. And then it has the nerve to be in the low minus degrees during winter nights. Why is our weather so spastic? The only good thing is that at least it isn't humid here, though we pay for that with being semi arid instead and having been in drought for yonks. So no river or lake or any sort of body of water to go swimming in either :(
Also, I have one day of work this week. One day. It's a 12-7 shift, so 6 1/2 hours pay, but still. Only one day. Hmph. If my roster continues looking so empty, I'm going to begin looking for work elsewhere.
Okay, bitching over. Life update of extreme uselessness, over. We now return you to your regularly scheduled broadcast :P
