Don Imus
So this boy sent out a mass IM over YIM saying:

I wish they would protest something other than Black civil rights such as boycotting a guy who said nappy headed ho's...if you think I am wrong, fuck you too
I replied:

This of course started a debate on the entire situation. His arguments were typical and redundant. Blah blah blah double standard blah blah blah this wouldn't have happened if he were black blah blah blah... you know the usual shit "straight" white guys bitch about.
My entire argument was only that Imus' comments were wrong regardless of race and politics and no one, black, white, Asian, or whatever should say such degrading remarks about other human beings ... especially direct attacks on specific people, i.e. the Rutgers Women's Basketball Team.
I'm not going to bore you with details, but we had a very good discussion I did a good job in getting my point across and while his style of arguing is very crude, crass, and sometimes asinine, I was able to see his point of view as well. We did agree that Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are just opportunistic hypocrites as well. I never really cared too much for the two of them, they always seemed to be more focused on the spot light then actually helping people, but I must digress.
Eventually it lead to him talking about how he was born in Ireland, his family has never owned slaves and he doesn't owe anyone anything...
Now we are at the root of the entire debate! So I pointed out to him that he appears to take the firing of Don Imus as a personal attack on him. He acknowledged that he did, I was surprised that he admitted that to me. So yeah, there is a little bit more, but I started talking about how I want him to be butch and to change the oil in my car and he told me I need to suck him ... hence me putting the word straight in parentheses earlier.
Anyway, your feed back is welcome on the Don Imus issue! Just keep in mind, just because you have an opinion and you post it on my page, it doesn't mean that I'll read it and/or give a fuck about your opinion. ;-)
