One eye toward the sky his body wakens
The lion’s heart beats peacefully with rest
One beam of radiant light dares to touch her face
Illuminating beauty known to steal a man’s breath
Such warmth to beckon him further below
Such comfort to deepen the soul between hands and flesh
In these moments between wish and reality
Two bodies seem one between feathers and cloth
Oil on canvas could not describe this pleasure
No pain or loss could deter this smile
One image as foundation to a life time of serenity
Her hair breeds steam to fill a hole he thought empty
One eye content to close, it dare not see an end to such perfection
A lion offering his heart as dowry for a second of her time
He scolds the light in jealousy to keep it from her face
How can one bear to see such beauty, known to steal a man’s breath
