I have to write an email to everyone about how everything is going, so I thought Id write in here first, because if I write about anything interesting in my emails I wont want to write about it again. New York was intense. It was so big. It looked different than it does in the movies. I hated the fact that my stay was so rushed. I was in and out of everywhere so fast that I didnt get to enjoy any of it. It kinda seems like a waste. I didnt see as much cool stuff as Ithought I would, and I didnt really takes as many pictures either, but the ones I did Ill try and put on next time. The only places that I stayed longer than thirty minutes were the empire state building, because the line was insane, my hostel, which I shared with 5 british people who came in drunk right after I went to bed, and the subway, if you add all my trips up. I didnt get to the hostel untill 1230 because of the line at the emp. building. I went to bed around 115, the brits came in at 2 and woke me up, so I stayed up a while, ate breakfast and went to central park at like 5 in the morning, which wasnt as cool as I thought it would be either. I think the next time Im there, on my way home, I will do absolutely nothing in an effort to truly apreciate the city. I would never live there, it made me feel too small.
Camp is not very fun right now, because the kids dont arrive until next sat. When I got here though I found that the job I thought I was going to have, another guy has, and I am the third man and all I do is carry boxes around all day long. Which I dont mind too much because not only do i not have to think, but on top of that and the gym I will be in amazing shape when I get to Hawaii. Yes, they have a small gym here, I was so psyched. The best part so far has been the Israeli's that I share a bunk with. Since Im not a counselor, who are mostly Canadian, I live in the support staff quarters, which I share with the Russians, who are the kitchen workers, and the security guards who are my Israeli friends. Me and the Israeli's got here before the Russians so weve become good friends, which I think is funny because I usually dont take to foreigners. I like the Israelis because they have a physical job like me, unlike the counselors who have cake jobs. They call them nats nats, which is hebrew for twinkling in the sun. Im picking up some Hebrew, and they tell me that by the end of the stay I will be Jewish. They have taught me more of the world than I have ever learned from one person.
Other than that, there arent very many cute girls here yet, the Piston won game three, and I....
