A bunch of the Tech crew came up for PAX last month. It was awesome! Even though I don't really care to go with them, it's still a great opportunity to get everyone together again. Hopefully it will continue to be a yearly event. I think the girls should come to Seattle that weekend too, and we can do something less nerdy together!
Speaking of nerdy, I saw the funniest card in Hallmark today. Inside "You are my GPS". Outside "If you were a nerd, you'd be so turned on right now. It made me laugh. :) I also found a birthday card that plays Ride of the Valkyries when you open it up. That wasn't as cute, but I'm sure it'll be well used this year for Alley Assassin.
I am sick of trying to find a job that I am qualified for. Maybe tomorrow I'll start looking for basket-weaving jobs or something. I'm not quite ready to search out retail positions, but I'm getting pretty grumpy. I am still holding out hope that I will get this one job, but since the whole process has moved along so slowly, I'm getting pretty unhappy with the whole situation.
My last job paid me for two weeks more than I actually worked. Yesterday I got a phone call asking me to send them a check for the bonus amount. I had actually called my old boss as soon as I realized the mistake, and he was looking into it for me. He agreed that it was a mistake, but he wasn't sure how I was supposed to pay it back. This makes me sad -- I really enjoyed having that extra paycheck padding my bank account.
