(no subject)
It looks like my thesis defense will be 9am on July 10. My committee needs the final version by July 3. Since I will be out of town starting June 30, I really need to get this sucker done by June 29. July 11 can't come soon enough!
When I was at Tech, finals week always meant that my days and nights got switched around. I think I probably took half of my finals between midnight and 5 am. I had almost forgotten that until last night. It was after 10, I was tired, and I was at a goot stopping place in my simulations. I turned off the light, got into bed, and suddenly my mind was going a million miles an hour. I just couldn't stop thinking! After about half an hour of this I was starting to calm down when I suddenly thought about a new set of trials that I should run. What if I forget about them by morning? Well, maybe I should just get up and write them down. I got my clipboard and a pencil and began sketching out the simulations I wanted to run. But I couldn't let it go at that. I ended up staying up another hour running some tests. This is going to be a very long week if I keep staying up till 1 and getting up by 5:30. Ugh!
Last night I dreamed about textures. It was sort of weird. I dreamed I was walking around Blacker Hovse and the Caltech campus. I didn't see or talk to any people in my dream, but I was very aware of all the textures around me. The smooth, cool stones around the courtyard. The rough wooden door going into Tunnel from the lounge. The mantle. Very odd.
Today I had my final orthodontist adjustment. The braces come off July 12 at 1pm. That is going to be an awesome week!
